Pavel Kolesnikov - Impromptus / Waltzes & Mazurkas - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Beethoven Moonlight Sonata - Pavel Kolesnikov - The 'abundance of intelligence' in Pavel Kolesnikov's pianism which so impressed Gramophone pays particular dividends in Beethoven. This recital, which includes the evergreen 'Moonlight' sonata, makes the music sound sound newly minted in Kolesnikov's hands. tag HYPERION Album Tracks 1. Andante in C Major Woo211 [1 23] 2. Intense, emotional and pure is how Pavel Kolesnikov describes the experience of making this recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations. It is the fruit of a collaboration between the pianist and choreographer Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker. The spirit of the dance, so fundamental to Bach, is never far away in this compelling new account.
