3-color sweetart marble effect double vinyl.. Originally released in 2004, MF Doom's MM. FOOD is hailed as a classic hip-hop album full of inventive production, remarkable wordplay, and unique themes. Celebrated for it's seamless blend of humor, wit, and social commentary, the album ushers listeners into a bizarre world of food-related metaphors, painting a bitterly comedic portrait of a life tainted by vice, violence, and jealousy. It was a brilliant and novel concept that gave DOOM plenty of room to explore the album's subjects. Throughout MM. FOOD, DOOM embeds complex ideas within seemingly simple narratives. Album opener InchBeef RappInch is a multi-pronged metaphor reminding listeners of the dangers involved in the glorification of conflict, especially within the rap game. InchHoe CakesInch borrows it's name from the sweet, hot water cornmeal patties, which he uses as a symbol to rhyme about indulgence and excess. Continuing the motif, he uses the Madlib-produced InchOne BeerInch to fold layers of depth about escapism and ego, while the popular InchRapp Snitch KnishesInch critiques the self-incrimination and contradictory behaviors of some rappers. Overall, MM. FOOD is both a social commentary and a piece of social satire, showcasing MF Doom's ability to blend serious themes with his unique, playful lyrical style. The 20 Year Anniversary Edition of MM.. FOOD has completely new artwork by Sam Rodriguez and is pressed on 3-color sweetart marble effect double vinyl. Vinyl LP pressing. This debut emerged as one of the most influential rap albums of the '90s. It laid the groundwork for the rebirth of New York hip-hop, an underground, hardcore new sound that went on to influence Biggie, Jay-Z, Nas, and Mobb Deep, among others. Rap became at once theatrical and cerebral, MCs lyricists and powerhouses capable of violence, metaphor, humor and revolution in their performing. The album is full of hard, gritty beats, references to pop culture and martial arts, eclectic piano and string sounds, as well as surrealist overtones, and there truly was nothing like it in the hip-hop world at the time. Even now, it's an original album in a league of it's own. Get it. You won't regret it. Album Tracks 1. Bring Da Ruckus - Wu-Tang Clan, Wu-Tang Clan 2. Shame on a Nigga - Wu-Tang Clan, Wu-Tang Clan 3. Clan in Da Front - Wu-Tang Clan 4. Wu-Tang 7th Chamber - Wu-Tang Clan, Wu-Tang Clan 5. Can It Be All So Simple/Intermission - Wu-Tang Clan, Wu-Tang Clan 6. Around the Fur the follow-up to Deftones' passionate, aggressive Adrenaline, sees the California quartet expanding on the sheer rage of their earlier work, adding new, more sinister shades to their already extreme sound. The opening InchMy Own Summer (Shove It),Inch serves as an introduction to the album's sonic theme sinewy guitars and eerie whispers alternate with fast, violent crunch. Sepultura's Max Cavallero contributes guitar and vocals to InchHeadup,Inch while InchMXInch finds singer Chino trading off vocal lines with Annalynn Cunningham, (wife of Deftones' drummer Abe) in an acerbic take on the rock star mentality. Vocal acrobat Moreno attacks a variety of styles his breathy, psychotic recitations sound downright industrial, while the album's calmer, more brooding moments show his gift for haunting melody. Behind him, guitarist Stephen Carpenter's heavy wall of sound is astoundingly muscular, yet inspiringly agile. When Deftones' hellish fury hits full tilt, as it always does on this album, Moreno's voice erupts into screams which are best described as otherworldly, transforming this intense musical firestorm into a hurtling juggernaut of aggression. This LP version comes pressed on 180 gram vinyl. Album Tracks 1. My Own Summer (Shove It) 2. Lhabia 3. Mascara 4. Around the Fur 5. Rickets 6. Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away) 7. Lotion 8.
