Action-packed movies that is full of exciting scenes!

My son really likes it. I have not watched it yet.

After learning he is the son of Poseidon, a youth must prevent a war among the gods and rescue his mother from the ruler of the underworld. Entertaining.

If you want a well made movie that brings the book to the big screen this is the movie for you. Even though most of the actors are unknown to me they were fabulous. The special effects was great. I was memorized to the screen through the entire movie. The book can not give you what this movie can. Watch this movie don't read the book.

The first installment to the Percy series is a fun joyment for kids and parents. I'm into greek mythology a little and love magic movies. So this was a must see. Didn't ever read the books, but I'm probably going to work my way to that someday. Kids love the movie as we make one night a week to watch this one or the second one during the week as our family night at home. Kids really enjoy the movie.

I loved the books. It is always hard when they are turned into movies because a movie can never be as good as the book. There just isn't enough time to describe all the details books include, plus it would get boring if a movie tried to do that. However, as adventure fiction movies go, this was entertaining and a great family film.

If you love mythical Greek mixed with some modern day excitement, then you'll love this fantasy adventure with some great actors including Pierce Brosnan, Kevin McKidd, and Uma Thurman playing parts that bring back memories of our Literature days about Poseidon and Zeus...fun to watch...

I watched this movie in theater the first time and simply loved it. Borrowed from the library and also never missed when it was playing on TV. Finally have a copy for my personal collection at a very reasonable price.

I love Greek Mythology so I am always down for a movie like this. I saw it on sale inside the store and had to get it for my own collection. However whats great is that it age appropriate for the kids to watch with adults.

After my daughter read the book, she was on a quest to find the movie. she watched it several times and then narrated it as we watched it as a family. we all liked it and would recommend it for any family night movie viewing,

We get the movie because my older son had read the book and love it. The movie was a family opportunity to discuss the book and the movie. My kids had seen the movie over 10 times. They love the effects and thematic.

IT WAS VERY ENTICEMENT TO WATCH JUST AS MUCH AS IF IT WAS IN A MOVIE HOUSE. I CANT WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT ONE COME OUT IN DECEMBER SO THAT I CAN WATCH THIS ONE ALSO.

I enjoyed this movie very much. I bought it for about $2.99. There was great cinematography and action scenes. The story line was great although there was some deviations from the book. Over all though, it was good.

This was a great movie! I was so happy that they continued to make the movies off this book series. It is a lot of fun and totally appropriate for all ages.

This was a fun action adventure movie. It was a modern retelling of the Greek story of Perseus. While it was definitely geared toward teens and tweens, a adults could still find something to enjoy in this movie.

i bought this for my 9 year old twins who are really into this series - they thought it was fantastic fun and have watched it several times and love talking about what is different from the book.

If you like fantasy and mythology this is a decent movie. It's not particularly accurate to anything that you might have learned in school, if they even teach mythology anymore, but it was entertaining.

I had seen this movie in the theater and liked it. I purchased the 3D second movie. I wanted to show my friends, but they had not seen the first one, so I bought it.

the Lightning Thief is a good movie. Not great, although your elementary age kid might think so. Your tweeners may ogle the actors and as their parent you might enjoy a few funny scenes and a few special effects. It is fun to see how characters tie in to Greek Mythology, if you know it, and who is who or begat by whom. Otherwise, unless you just love the Disney Channel, your attention may wander as an adult. It's a good one to sit though with your kids and create discussion and answer questions about the classical characters, so all in all, it gets a thumbs up.
