About this product
Three time Grammy nominee, Peter Case (Nerves, Plimsouls) returns with The Midnight Broadcast. You're alone, at night, on a long journey in a car, far away from the nearest town, driving in the darkness. The radio is on but only receiving static. A radio station begins to tune in. A broadcast is coming in and out of focus, of a DJ who's announcing records, a rock n' roll DJ with a voice from Finnegans Wake. The music starts, but what is it? One song after another, all different, but all of a piece, like a transmission from the other end of world. Songs of cowboys, lovers, fighters, and shipwrecked sailors, hope, laughter and despair, ancient blues, gutbucket jazz, and singing machines, songs that sound like one microphone is listening in on a roomful of maniacs. Or on someone in the loneliest blue motel in the West. It's The Midnight Broadcast.

2023 from the singer/songwriter and former Plimsouls frontman. On 16th solo album Doctor Moan, triple Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Peter Case channels spirits of jazz, blues, and boogie-woogie into exquisitely nuanced expressions. Released by Sunset Blvd Records, Case's first piano-based is sonically sparse yet emotionally rich, capturing the peak of both his songcraft and voice with an organic authenticity rare in the digital age. InchI try to take things I love and use them in a new way,Inch mulled Case. InchI grew up on 1950s and '60s rock & roll and folk. I learned how to play blues here in San Francisco, out on the street, and then was part of the punk rock movement... It's all still in there; it's my musical DNA. Hopefully it opens up peoples' hearts and let's them feel emotions that they want to feel but don't usually have,Inch he concluded. InchAnd a lot of them are focused on surviving in this world now, so hopefully the warmth of companionship and comfort, too.Inch
