Peter Homans - Tendrils - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

On High Horse Heaven, Emarosa continues the evolution of 2019's Peach Club, which marked the band's bold leap into alt-pop and landed them a Top 20 spot on the Billboard charts. A record drenched in vintage glamour and emotional honesty, both musically and visually, High Horse Heaven expands their sonic universe once again, offering a richer, more refined expression of the sound they've been shaping over the past few years. Frontman Bradley Walden remains the undeniable centerpiece - his voice elastic, soul-stung, and impossible to ignore. Across the new album, his performance captures a full spectrum of vulnerability and defiance, wrapped in shimmering synths, rich textures, and bold hooks that echo the golden age of 80s pop with a modern pulse. High Horse Heaven feels like the natural successor to Peach Club, but deeper, sharper and even more unapologetically Emarosa. From anthemic heartbreak to slick, danceable highs, the album balances it's retro influences with the kind of emotional depth that only Emarosa can deliver. Each track unfolds like a cinematic scene bruised but glamorous, confident but human. It's a sound that calls to mind the stylized grandeur of acts like The 1975 or M83, while carving out a space that's entirely their own.

Produced by Wild Rivers and Gabe Wax (Soccer Mommy, Adrienne Lenker), Better Now consists of eight tracks that complement the recent album Never Better, as the group dives deeper into the complicated, confusing and unknown realities of life in their twenties, and the personal growth they've found through it all.Of the new project, Wild Rivers shares, InchBetter Now is our companion record, and the other side to Never Better. On the first record, the songs contain raw, absolute and instinctual feelings. In many ways, Better Now is the afterglow of this. We're reflecting and understanding that relationships change over time. Complicated situations can be just that, complicated. Feelings can remain unresolved. If the first record is bright and bold, this one is the softer gradients in between; the sunrises and the sunsets. Both projects make up the full spectrum of who we are. Better Now is just the moodier, misunderstood one. Musically the records really are twins. We wrote all of the songs at the same time. Finishing Better Now, we really felt that it was the close of a massive musical and personal chapter. It's bittersweet but so meaningful to be able to chronicle our lives between these projects. Ultimately, we are optimistic; 'better now,' after the ups and downs of the relationships and turbulence of our twenties. Hopefully we're wiser for it.Inch
