Peter Nagy - Romantic Piano Music 4 - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

The collection of songs included on this very record is not meant as an anthology, even the rough one. It is no more than a tiny window letting us see the depths of the Russian soul. Although all of the songs bear a distinctive folk character they were created in towns by enlightened authors transforming traditional chant in their own way. As a result these songs were closely related to European canon and became extremely popular outside the country; the exotic phrase of the melody and the unparalleled type of emotionality have fascinated the world for over two hundred years. Limited grey colored vinyl LP pressing. One of the places that made the strongest impression on Bjørnson & Selvik during the initial research and following performances that created «Hugsjá» was the area of Hardanger, a few hours from their base in Bergen, Norway. Hardanger is mysterious, pure and able to blow the minds of even the most experienced hikers and nature dwellers. It is also assumed to be the area in the Germanic tribe of the Harudes settled in ancient times, becoming the first Western Norwegians. Album Tracks 1. Heim Til Yggdrasil 2. Hardanger
