On this , Danacord presents the first recording of the complete Danish Late Romantic Piano Music by Emil Hartmann. Danish pianist Cathrine Penderup herself made a detective work locating all the solo piano works plus several unpublished manuscripts by the Danish late romantic composer Emil Hartmann. The music is very well constructed for the piano and is full of beautiful tunes and harmonies. Volume 1 included all the original works for solo piano and in this final volume 2 is the first recording of the Scandinavian Folk Music, Op. 30, a collection of danses and melodies arranged for solo piano. A not to be missed.

Ulla Ricklander is one of the world's leading mezzo-sopranos with a long list of critical acclamations. She studied with Hildegund Becker-Lohman in Wiesbaden and Bodil Gumoes and Knud Elimar in Copenhagen. She gives regular concerts in Sweden and Denmark, and also works as an actor in musicals and children's theater. Together with pianist Cathrine Penderup she has found songs from the Nordic countries that are close to her heart. It is important to Yunus Kaya to let his interpretation seem spontaneous, almost improvisational, with all the care of rehearsal. Ilona Eibenschütz, a student of Clara Schumann who met Brahms personally and visited him during his summer stay in Bad Ischl, was allowed to hear his Opera 118 and 119 by the composer himself. In her memoirs, she describes his piano playing as Inchvery free-spirited - as if he were improvising - with heart and soul...Inch During the recording, Kaya wanted to make these two aspects palpable the loneliness and introversion on the one hand, and the openness to the spontaneous in sound and tempo shaping on the other. No feeling, no pain can be felt and described in the same way every day.
