Q: I am looking for a DVD player without region coding. Does it have a Region Coding?
A: Yes, this is a Region 1 player.
A: As I understand it, it takes older DVDs which were not created for HD and converts them so they work on HD TV. I bought this when my other one bit the dust. It does a great job. It is basic, there is no display so you don't know how many minutes in you are, but do you really use that feature?
Q: will this work with a 4K tv?
A: Yes, but the DVD player is only 1080p so you won't get a 4k picture from the DVD player
A: Hello Lynnega, good you have sent us this question. The Philips - DVD Player with HD Upconversion BDP3502 should be connected to your television with a HDMI cable. As long as your television has a HDMI port it will be compatible. The power button does not light up when you press it. However, there is a small red light on the player which incicates it is connected to power while it is turned off. The green light is on when the player is being used. Hope this answers!
