Philips continues to evolve the edge of electric shaving technology with the 6900. * As an intro, I have never found an electric shaver that can do everything for my scruff. Also, I always have one in my kit. I shave straight blade from time to time, cartridge blade and electric; Sometimes mutually exclusive and typically a combination. My neck hairs tend to quickly grow ingrown if not shaved within ~18 hours. An electric razor will not cut off the top layer of skin that quickly grows over the hair or dig the ingrown hair out of the skin. That is my personal dilemma. Typically, I will use an electric to get all areas and then go over the neck with the blade if I am over time on hair growth. The 6900 series is an upgrade from my Philips SensoTouch 3D. I knew the 3D was up for a blade/head change, ‘had looked at the options for replacement and was in a holding pattern of either upgrade or find a quality blade replacement. With the new 6900 I noticed an immediate better shave. I suspect this was much to do to the new blade vs. my 1 year + older shave head. What I really like about the unit is the snap off head and trimmer. That was not an option on the other unit as it had a built-in small trimmer that was really inadequate for the most part. I really do like the trimmer and its adjustments. There are 5 detents on the trimmer that allow you to get close or have a nice trim. "Shaving isn't just about getting to the skin." The shave does feel better and it does cut down the stubble close. There is some reading on the product for “SkinProtect” blades, “Comfort Glide,” and a feature called “SkinGuard” which offers a lower cut speed. I do like the thought and engineering put into this. You can tell that they are putting concerned effort and trials into their R&D for staying on top of the market. There are some newer shave technologies incorporated in this model in its physical design and features. It is not just a repackaging for different year. Pros: Smooth, close shave. Shave wet or Dry. 5 hour run time on charge. Quality and capable Trimmer head. Powerful and you can tell the Li-Ion power and no slow down on shaving with either Shaver or Trimmer. Comfortable rubberized grip. Power Lock to lock out power button for accidental turning on in travel bag. Cons: Nothing really unless you just don’t like electric shavers. And the only beef I have with Philips over the years is the proprietary charging adapters/cords. I have to have 2 Charging adapters for the OneBlade and the 6900. They both have keyed connections and different voltages. I wish they were standard 5V USB. "USB C Please." Lol

I've been using a razer shaver for over 10 years now decided finally to give an electric shaver a chance. What caught my eye on this particular model was all the accessories that it comes with. You get a travel case, charging base (the cool thing is you don't need the base to charge you can just plug the power cord directly), and beard trimmer. Battery life is 50mins which plenty enough for multiple shaves. It took me longer to get used to shaving with Norelco 6900. The first couple of shaves almost sent me back to the blade shavers. Even the instructions manuals give you a heads up about allowing time for your skin to adjust. What helps if you're like me that goes a week without shaving is to trim first that way it doesn't feel like your hairs are being pulled. After that, the experience has been good and quick. I prefer a wet shave but even a dry shave for those quick touch-ups when you're on a rush performs well. If this is your first electric shaver I suggest you read the manual since there's plenty of customizations options available to you. For me, there was a learning curve but nothing complicated about it. The beard trimmer has 5 length settings and a skin guard setting for a more gentle shave. I also like being able to use it on the shower without worrying about getting shocked. The unit itself is slick looking and the LCD provides battery level and if skin guard is activated. This particular model, in my opinion, is a good electric shaver to start with for first time users or for someone looking to replace their old unit. Just give it time even if the first shave doesn't go as smooth. Overall I'm very satisfied with the product and I highly recommend it.

Manual blades sometimes they would irritate my skin, and I had to be very careful to avoid skin bumps. The Philips Norelco Shaver 6900 is my first electric shaver, and I am highly satisfied with its performance. Now I have the smoothes shave without the nicks and ingrown hairs. I usually shave every other day, my type of hair is coarse and thick. It is easy to change shaving heads, and it is not noisy. The comfort glide shaving rings work excellent on my skin, and it doesn't cause it to become irritant. The multiflex heads following the curve of my face, and even catching hair in my neck and jawline. The shaver functions wet or dry, but I prefer using it wet. Cleaning the shaving heads is straightforward, pull out the 3-ring cartridge, open the cartridge and rinse. No more guessing games with the battery life, the shaver has LED display lights for three level battery life indicator. The shaving kit also includes a click-on bear styler, a charging stand, and a hard travel case. As an option those who travel or don't like to use the charging stand, the charging cord can be directly plugged into the shaver. It is convenient the included bear styler for whenever I decide to grow a bear. Compare side by side to the manual shaver; I get a much better shave and way less irritated skin with the Philip Norelco Shave 6900. I am highly satisfied with my new shaver.

I'll start by saying I've used manual razors for the last 20 years. I just didn't think anything would cut as close or as nice as a razor - I'm talking Gilette, Harry's, etc. At the end of my shave, I purposely went against the grain - making the cut even closer and baby butt smooth - no matter which way you brushed your hand. Out of the box, this Norelco 6900 impressed me. Light, nice features, comfortable grip, carrying bag and easy attachments. I took it to my bathroom and let it charge for a couple hours. I've always used shaving cream - and since was a wet/dry shaver - I opted for using a little cream. Worked like a charm! I could rinse the head easily, manipulate the shaver to get under the nose and upper lip easy enough and it did produce a very nice shave - but I'll say not as close as my "against-the-grain" strokes from the manual razor. Also - I was surprised that it took less time than manual - even on my first attempt. I've been using the shaver about a week now - and got up the courage to to a dry shave - also had no issues. I'm impressed with how easy it is to use, clean and charge. I have noticed that I have a little trouble on my neck though - kinda around the adam's apple area as the hair grow funny there. That's the only reason for 4 stars vs 5 - still having trouble in that area. Overall - if you are looking to upgrade your shaver or just want to try an electric model - this one's for you. By the way - a shave seems to use about 10-15% of the battery - depending on how quick you are. That said - a 7 day vacation without charging should be easily attainable!

Bought the Philips Norelco - 6900 Wet/Dry Electric Shaver to replace a 5000 Series shaver that was beginning to falter after 4 years of daily use. The 6900 shaver gives me closer, more comfortable shaves then did the 5000. It is also easier to rinse it clean thoroughly after each use. I have been using it for 22 days now and have not had to charge it since I initially charged it when it arrived. The added pivot points over the 5000 Series shaver, along with the rubber ring that protects my face are the primary reasons that I am very pleased by the performance of this 6000 Series shaver. The upgrade was worth the modest additional cost.

I've only been shaving with this unit for only two weeks now, but I've been able to manage wet-shave like smoothness right out of the gate. I use the trimmer/edger to line the bottom of my beard, and use the three-head shaver for everything below. Does not pull hairs, and has not irritated my normally sensitive skin whatsoever. I have not attempted to run it wet like the book says I can.. but I assume it would be just as smooth and easy to use. So long as you remember to rinse inside/out of the heads after use (lights remind you after each use), and dry them properly before next use, I am expecting a long enough life, especially for the price. Glad I chose this unit over some of the lesser-priced competitors. Comes with carry case, cleaning brush, charging cord (and base, if that's your thing), trimmer/edger head (with adjustable guard), and normal shaver head. A+

I have been a long time Philips Norelco Shaver user, but unfortunately Philips stopped making replacement heads for my old razor, so I had to purchase a new one. I have been very happy with this razor so far. It gives a great shave, has a decent battery life, and is very easy to clean. Given that I don't shave every day at times, I can honestly say that this shaver works very well on 2-3 day growth length.

Strong battery life, shaves pretty close. Only needed 3 days of pre shave lotion before stopping and shaving dry. Only thing that keeps from being a 5 is that I have to clean the head and rotors every 3-4 days, or I can see cut stubble falling onto counter. Again, very good model, looks great, charges fast, and simple to use. Get 1 if you’re looking at it!

Lightweight, easy to handle; flex heads glide over my face for a wonderful shave. Only thing I didn't like was when I removed the shaver head from the shaver, I turned on the shaver and had a hard time snapping the head back on due to mis-alignment of the rotating shaver head pegs.

Last month, the shaver that I had for about 10 years was starting to show its age and I needed a new one. I am have been very pleased with Philips Norelco and wanted to stay with same company. Best Buy had a bunch of choices which range in price. Choose this item because I like the three head style and you could use it in water. The shave above this one cost a lot more and I did not want to spent a whole lot on this. In the past month, this shaver has worked very well. Easy to clean and use. Light weight and I have not had any problems with it. I would recommend this to a friend.

Closer shave and quieter than the less expensive Phillips razor. Battery seems to last longer to

Blade shaving irritates my skin so I use an electric razor. I bought this to replace an older Norelco shaver and the difference has been night and day.

This razor gives a great shave and is easy to use. I always use a shaving cream with it and it does a great smooth and close shave. I rinse/clean it after every use and it is very easy to clean. The shaving head comes on/off very easily so it is easy to rinse and clean. This is one of the best shavers I have had.

I was hesitant to try a new design, been using the same older Norelco design for 20+ years. Glad I did! This shaver is smoother and provides a great shave. Still getting used to the trimmer and figuring out the best settings, but seems to work well as well.

I have used rotary shavers for many years. Even used a foil shaver once, but none have come so close to a blade shave until this one. I typically can't shave every day as my skin breaks out too much and the razor fails to get everything, but this razor is an exception. The smooth razor head effortlessly glides over my skin both dry and wet, yet the blades quickly (very, VERY quickly) shave perfectly close. My blade razor sits sulking, knowing it may never see the light of day again. A truly fantastic devise. Bravo - Norelco!!

This is a light weight, quiet shaver that gets the job done. The blades do not over heat while being used. Very easy clean up with a simple rinse.

Replaced an older model rotary shaver. Use it dry, without discomfort, clean shave. Comes with powered recharging stand and trimmer.
