Compact, long battery life, really records well, just remember to kind of point to where you want to record for clarity. While not completely noise cancelling, it does a great job of reducing background noise. I got this of recording EVPs in case there were any where I was at.

This is the first time in my whole life that I bought a voice recorder. I needed it to record interviews I was preparing to conduct for a research study. Yes, it can be seen that arriving at a decision as to which to buy was very difficult because of three reasons: (a) there are cheaper ones available with lot of reviews, (b) I am a first time buyer so no previous experience to refer to, and (c) I need it for an important assignment, which is to record interviews for an academic work (research) so I wanted something that will not disappoint. After series and several days of decision making, I decided on this one although the price is twice of some of them. As a matter of fact, I am more than excited with the purchase. The battery life is more than excellent, you can record for several hours. The speakers are loud and the recording is very clear. Transferring recordings to a computer is as easy as drinking water. Please, if you decide to buy it, go ahead and you will love it. This is the longest review I have ever given on a product.

I bought this about 9 months ago when I got a job at a newspaper for interviews, meetings, etc. I wasn’t sure how useful it would be, so I went with one of the cheaper options, this one. It has been a lifesaver on more occasions than I can count. Ability to use a microsd card has been great, batteries lasted a few months at a time (granted I wasn’t using all day every day like college students recording lectures might, but for evening meetings and occasional interviews, the batteries lasted a while). I was even able to create a little loop to attach it to my keychain. However, today I am having to get a new one. About a month ago, the top half of the screen got stripey, like every other row on the screen was burned out. A bit harder to read, but manageable. Then the batteries started dying with no warning. Where before, the little battery symbol would slowly lower, then it showed fully charged but would be dead in 10 minutes. But I replaced the batteries and all seemed fine. Today came the final blow, however. I turned it on, and it’s not going past the start up screen. I can’t turn it on, I can’t turn it off. It’s just showing Phillips. I did not get the warranty, so I won’t be replacing with the same model. If you’re not sure if you need a recorder and want to try it out, I highly recommend but suggest you get the 2 year warranty, but if you know you’ll need it and use it for a long time, might want to go a bit higher end.

Simple to use. Loud enough to hear playback, great battery life on a charge. Prone to buttons being pressed in a backpack/purse/pocket. Have found it to be recording (or found recorded files) when I pull it out of my bag.

A perfect tool to use during an Audit - especially in a freezer warehouse where it is below zero - so that you don't have to write everything down. Extremely long-life battery - even in a freezer environment, easy to download, and easy to use.

No manual but intuitive functionality. Volume in playback fair if not linked to computer.

It's small, fits well in my hand, and easily stashes in my pocket. Have only had a chance to use it during one workshop. So far, so good.

Works perfectly for all of my projects where I need a sound overlay or narrative. LOVE IT! And Best Buy is where I go to get what I need in terms of technical stuff. And even though I think I know what I need, when I get to Best Buy and start looking, I am learning way more about what I need, and am most well-directed inside the store.

Very small and light. It is from Europe but easy to set up. The recording quality was very good. We used it first to permanently preserve an important but low volume voice mail and transfer it to a laptop. Very satisfied.

Purchased for my father recently diagnosed with cancer. We were looking for something easy to use for him to record stories. It was fairly easy to use. Would have been nice to have detailed directions included in with the product for use. I now had to look up and figure out more information online.

This recorder is as easy to use as the old tape recorders. The technology is similar so the learning curve on how to use it is very small. The recorder is physically smaller, thus making it easier to handle. The memory clip allows for a larger recording capacity than the old tape recorders. I know that digital audio recorders been around for awhile. The time allows them to be perfected. For me, this is new.

The one-touch recording aspects of this Digital product by Philips are excellent for easy note-taking, and the acoustic recording quality is excellent.

The buttons got stuck and there is no way to unstick the buttons without jamming something like a paperclip under the button tabs. The sound quality is just average. I used it 3 times, with many months between each use, so something inside came unglued. Not worth the money.
