About this product
Montréal's Phobocosm continue their career-spanning collaboration with Dark Descent Records with third full-length Foreordained. Foreordained is an amalgamation of everything that came before it. A perfectly balanced fusion of the murky death metal depravity of debut Deprived, blended with the devastating doom of Bringer Of Drought. Remarkably, this was the plan all along InchWhen we wrote Deprived, we decided that our first three albums would be a trilogy, so Foreordained is the last chapter of that trilogy. We made a conscious effort to pace all three albums in a similar manner, since we wanted them to be linked-starting with a slow, crushing doom song and concluding with a long, epic, depressive one. It's not a coincidence,Inch reveals guitarist Samuel Dufour. As their genre of choice would suggest, Foreordained's lyrical concepts are about death, as well as the futility of denying one's inherent mortality. Hence the name of the album; meaning predestined, inevitable InchSince death is unavoidable, the end of all life and of our planet is also unavoidable, so there are apocalyptic themes also. The closer 'For an Aeon' is about a possible way the world as we know it could end.Inch Wrapped in artwork by the inimitable Lauri Laaksonen of Desolate Shrine, Convocation and Pestilent Hex fame, Foreordained is set to be a 2024 death metal highlight. Album Tracks 1. 1. Premonition 2. 2. Primal Dread 3. 3. Everlasting Void 4. 4. Infomorph 5. 5. Revival 6. 6. for An Aeon

Swedish/American supergroup Pre-Human Vaults was founded by guitarist Ronnie Björnström (Solution.45, ex-Aeon) in 2012. Initially intended to combine the thrashier side of bands, such as early Metallica, Testament and Machine Head, with a more straightforward death metal-oriented sound, it later progressed into something else, but with that first notion still as the starting point. Even the PHV logo was a direct result of that first notion. Four songs were initially written, but it wasn't until 2014, when Ronnie was visited by American drummer Michael Gomez (ex-Black Plague) in his studio Garageland Studios, that the foundation and sound of the band came together. Gomez's aggressive, yet groovy playing style suited the songs perfectly and a collaboration was started. Shortly afterwards, Peter Nordin (ex-Meshuggah, Calipash) came to the studio and recorded bass on the songs, and a solid foundation was created. Ronnie then mixed the 4-song demo and sent it to Christian Älvestam, who is known for his aggressive singing style in bands such as Solution.45, Scar Symmetry, Unmoored and many others. Guitarist Patrik Gardberg (Torchbearer, ex-Solution.45, ex-Ammotrack) was asked to record solos on the songs, and as of then the band was 100% complete, but would be put on hold for a short amount of time Album Tracks 1. Whirlwind Reaper 2. Close to All Next to Nothing 3. When the Trap Is Set 4. Shadow 44
