Planet of the Apes [WS] [35th Anniversary Collector's Edition] [DVD] [1968]

Planet of the Apes is the first movie like this with Charlton Heston. Great to see this movie coming back for others to see!

One of my favorite old school doomsday/sci-fi style movies. A cautionary tale to be sure. Charlton Heston just chews scenes to shreds. But the other actors, such as Roddy McDowell, managed to emote so well considering the restrictive ape prosthetics & costumes. I had the DVD version, but decided to upgrade to the Blu-ray version during a special promo period. Glad I did. Colors, detail, sound all so much improved over the DVD version.

What can I say, an all-time classic... it may seem a little cheesy at times, but that's just because they didn't have the special effects that they now have... But there's a lot of lessons to be learned from this movie!!!

There is nothing like this movie, I remember seeing this as a little kid and was blown away by the ending, Needless to say it has held up. Still an exciting movie and wonderful acting, one of my all time favorites!

What can you say, the original Planet of the Apes is a classic! Although the apes by today's standard look fake, the movie itself is awesome! Ordering and shipping from Best Buy was easy and fast.
