A: Fingernails are key. Press DOWN on the left rail of the plastic clip near the volume buttons. Left UP on the bottom of the phone under the "silent" switch. While you push down on the left rail, you are lifting the phone. The top left portion of the phone will pop up and you can then ease up the left side of the phone.
Q: Does the inner case connect/separate from the outer folio case by magnet, or are they inseparable?
A: The inner case is firmly attached to to the folio - inseparable - but you can easily pop the phone out.
