The PlayStation 5 Pro is not just an incremental update; it is a paradigm shift that redefines console gaming and delivers a truly premium experience. For anyone who views games as an expressive art form—a sentiment I hold deeply—this console is the definitive canvas. Performance and Visuals: Power in the Surreal The centerpiece of the Pro is its astonishing jump in graphical fidelity. Playing titles optimized for the Pro is transformative. The implementation of hardware-accelerated ray tracing is flawless, rendering lighting, reflections, and shadows with an uncanny, almost hyper-real precision. Games running in native 4K at a consistent 60 FPS, or the new optional 8K mode for cinematic titles, look simply breathtaking. The new PlayStation Spectral Upscaling (PSSU) technology is the secret weapon here. It delivers sharpness and detail that genuinely rival native resolution, eliminating the distracting artifacts often seen in lesser upscalers. In fast-paced action games, the increased consistency in frame rates ensures a silky-smooth, responsive experience that drastically reduces input lag. Design and User Experience The industrial design retains the bold, futuristic aesthetic of the original PS5 but refines it. The Pro model is noticeably quieter and boasts a more efficient cooling system—a critical improvement for prolonged gaming sessions. The DualSense Pro Controller features customizable paddles and enhanced haptic actuators, adding new layers of immersion that feel tailored and precise. Verdict: Essential Upgrade The PS5 Pro successfully manages to future-proof the console ecosystem. It elevates existing titles to new heights and provides developers with the substantial horsepower needed to create the next generation of truly immersive, visually complex worlds. If you demand the absolute best performance, view gaming as a pursuit of the highest graphical and artistic fidelity, and want a machine built for the next half-decade, the PlayStation 5 Pro is an essential, high-value investment.

As a long-time PlayStation gamer, I was excited to upgrade, and this console does not disappoint. Design & Build Quality Sony has kept the sleek white design of the original PS5, but the Pro model feels even more refined. I had the original PS5 and decided to upgrade. Everything overall is an improvement, storage, load times, smaller profile and quieter. It is a shame that you have to purchase the stand and disc drive separate, though understandable because this may be the last run of consoles with an actual disc drive going forward. The pro enhancement in certain games is subtle but overall the console feels like an upgrade if you can stomach the $$$.

I’ll be real — I wasn’t even planning on buying the PS5 Pro. I already had a launch PS5 and told myself the upgrade wasn’t worth it. Then I walked into Best Buy just to look, stood in front of the display for like 20 minutes, and left with one under my arm. That was about four months ago and I have zero regrets. I’ve been gaming since the PS2 days so when I say this thing genuinely suprised me, I mean it. I went in skeptical. The PS4 Pro honestly felt like a cash grab so I wasn’t expecting much. First thing I booted up was Spider-Man 2 — a game I’d already beaten on my base PS5. First time swinging through Manhattan at night in the rain on the Pro I actually stopped moving just to look at the reflections on the street below me. My girlfriend walked in and said “is that real?” She doesn’t even play games. That said everything. The big thing with the Pro is it basically kills the fidelity vs performance tradeoff. On the base PS5 you were always choosing one or the other. On this machine quality modes run like performance modes used to. I picked up FF7 Rebirth specifically because I heard it was rough on the base console in quality mode — on the Pro it’s been smooth the entire playthrough. For a game that visually dense thats impressive.. The Best Buy experience was smooth too. Staff actually knew what they were talking about, had both versions in stock, no pressure. I went disc version because I still buy physical and I’m not trying to have my whole library tied to a digital account. Was in and out in under 20 minutes. DualSense is still slept on. The adaptive triggers in Returnal genuinely change how you play, not just how it feels. Astro Bot does things with the controller that feel like a magic trick. Battery life is still mid though — charge it daily or keep a cable close, just how it is. Load times are still insane. Spider-Man 2 goes from the home screen to in-game in about two seconds. Coming from a base PS4 before this gen that still doesn’t feel normal. If your on a base PS5 and play graphically heavy games, the upgrade is real. Coming from a PS4 this is one of the biggest leaps you’ll feel. Best Buy had it in stock same day and four months later it’s the most used thing in my setup. Genuinely the version of the PS5 that delivers on what the original was promising.

I recently purchased a PS5 from Best Buy, and I have to say, the entire experience was fantastic from start to finish. The website was easy to navigate, and I was able to check for in-store availability right away. I opted for in-store pickup, and the process was seamless. When I arrived at the store, the staff was friendly and had my order ready within minutes, ensuring that everything was smooth and hassle-free. It felt great to walk out with my new console without any issues. As for the PS5 itself, I’m beyond impressed. The console is sleek and modern, with a clean, futuristic design that looks great in my entertainment setup. The load times are incredibly fast, and the system is noticeably quieter than previous models. The graphics are stunning—whether I’m playing next-gen titles or enjoying backward-compatible games, everything looks vibrant and detailed. The new DualSense controller is a huge upgrade too, with its haptic feedback and adaptive triggers making for a much more immersive gaming experience. What I also appreciate about the PS5 is its user-friendly interface, which makes navigation simple and intuitive. Setting up was quick and easy, and I’ve had no issues with connectivity or performance. The game library is also fantastic, with a great mix of exclusive titles and multi-platform games. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase, and I’m glad I chose Best Buy for both the product and the excellent customer service. Highly recommend if you’re in the market for a PS5!

I upgraded to the Pro after having the original PS5 for a few years and I’m really glad I did. I love the design. It's cleaner and fits my setup better than the OG. The performance upgrade is noticeable. Games run smoother, load faster, and everything just feels better. Definitely happy with the upgrade. PSSR2 is going to make it that much better!!

Just got my hands on the PlayStation 5 pro, and I have to say — the experience has been absolutely fantastic from the moment I unboxed it. Sony really outdid themselves with this one. First off, the design is sleek and futuristic. It looks like a piece of high-tech art sitting in my living room. Setup was simple and fast — within minutes I was diving into the next generation of gaming. The performance? Unreal. Games load incredibly fast thanks to the lightning-speed SSD. I’m talking seconds. No more waiting around — just straight into the action. The graphics are on another level: crisp 4K resolution, smooth frame rates, and ray tracing that makes every detail pop like never before. The DualSense controller deserves a special shoutout. The haptic feedback and adaptive triggers are total game changers. You actually feel what’s happening in the game — whether it’s the tension of pulling back a bow or the rumble of driving over rough terrain. It’s immersive in a way I didn’t know I needed until I tried it. Plus, the exclusive games like Demon’s Souls, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Spider-Man: Miles Morales show off exactly what this system is capable of. Stunning visuals, smooth gameplay, and that next-gen wow factor. Overall, buying the PS5 was one of the best decisions I’ve made as a gamer. It’s powerful, fast, and built to impress. If you’ve been thinking about upgrading, do it — this system doesn’t just meet expectations, it smashes them. 10/10. No regrets.

This console is nothing short of a monster, but don’t let that fool you. If you just upgraded from the ps4 to the ps5, or you don’t play often enough to justify the price for the “possible quality benefits” then it’s most likely not for you to be honest! HOWEVER, if you love playing games in your free time, you enjoy super quick loading speeds with beautiful 4k 60-120fps games consistently, then yeah this is your best bet. You know that performance mode that often causes too much lag to use? No longer! And also console storage? Almost a problem of the past, with the starting 2 Tb of storage I haven’t had to worry once yet, upgrading from the 500Gb ps5. Here’s what it feels like to want, and get, this console: At first it’s the indecision to switch from the ps5 to the ps5 pro, next it’s the pretty penny that’s gone from your pocket to get the current most GORGEOUS upgrade in a console gaming system, AND a new 4k OLED TV to match the console’s potential. And with that I feel that the ps5 pro is the best console I’ve ever shelled out any money for however it’s easy to understand how many could see otherwise!

PS5 pro is super quiet, takes up less space than the OG PS5, has 2 TB of storage built in, and you can tell the difference in the graphics/performance. However, I’m not sure it’s worth the $200+ price difference. Not only does it not have a disc drive or vertical stand, but I don’t think most people would care about the performance difference. It would have been worth it if it came with the pulse/pro controller. Long story short - I like it, but it’s not worth it. You’ll get a better value with the regular PS5.

I upgraded my PS5 to a PS5 pro at the end of March before prices went up. Graphics are noticeable between base PS5 and PS5 pro, and ps4 games also look better on PS5 pro with pssr resolution. I’m playing it on my LG C4 OLED TV. Unlike ps4 pro ps5 pro has better ray tracing more games support 4k in 120hz, graphics looks better than Xbox series x and base ps5 but I wish ps5’s have Dolby Vision on select games. I got the disc drive on an add on because I still have all my physical games on ps5. Games I tested were gears of war reloaded and sonic racing crossworlds which is both ps5 pro enhanced that colors popped out and watch dogs 2 which is on ps4.

The PlayStation 5 Pro is a big step up from the standard PS5. The performance is noticeably better, especially in games that support higher frame rates and improved graphics. Everything feels smoother, faster, and more responsive. Loading times are incredibly quick, and the visual quality is impressive, especially on a good 4K TV. I also like that it keeps the same design style and ecosystem, so upgrading was easy. If you’re someone who plays a lot or cares about graphics and performance, this console is definitely worth it. The only downside is the price, but you get what you pay fo

My games look better. And perform better. Games look more colorful with colors that pop! And they all have Ray Tracing! At 4K Resolution! And at 120 FPS !!!! All of that running at the same time! No more choosing Quality or Performance because you get EVERYTHING!! Hats off to Sony Playstation Engineers. They are tech wizards! And it’s only $699 ! Thats 1/3 of what i paid to build a 4080 computer! And it performs the same!!!! I 100% recommand SONY PLAYSTION 5 PRO !!!!

I’ve owned every generation of Playstation, and I’ve never upgraded to a slim or Pro model. This time was the exception. While the base PS5 has served me well since day 1, the PS5 Pro has genuinely felt like an upgrade in every way possible. Performance, ray tracing and high fidelity? I was sold. The extra terabyte of storage is a nice help as well. If you’re considering, i would highly suggest as it’s served well for Resident Evil Requiem, and i think 007 First Light, GTA 6 and Wolverine will run amazing as well

The PlayStation 5 delivers fast performance, stunning graphics, and almost no loading times thanks to its custom SSD. Games look and feel more immersive, especially with the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. The system is large but stylish, and its interface is clean and easy to use. While storage space fills up quickly and some exclusives are still limited, the PS5 offers one of the best gaming experiences available today.

I have the base ps5 and yes i had FOMO 3 days before the price hike...so what? ZERO regrets. The PRO is a beast of a machine and i absolutely love it. Cyberpunk, tsushima, no man's sky, AC shadows, the list goes on...they all look fantastic. Paired with my asus swift oled its (chef's kiss). Graphics and performance are awesome. Storage isnt a problem as i already had a 2tb ssd on my base. Yes, buying the drive and stand separately was an extra cost to an already pricey item but i think its worth it.
