Poema - Sing It Now - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

2016 . Poem is a four-piece progressive rock/metal group based in Athens, Greece formed in 2006. The line-up had a few changes over the years, but has been based around George Prokopiou (vocals/guitar), Laurence Bergstrom (lead guitar), Stratos Haidos (bass) and Stavros Rigos (drums). With a wide range of influences and love for experimentation, Poem embarked on a sound adventure defining their personal style from the very first songs. The four members have various musical backgrounds, which they bring into the studio and rehearsals, creating music that none of them could compose on their own. They love to experiment with different sounds and rhythms, so jamming freely is a liberating process for each member, both individually as well as a very unifying process for the band.

Emerging from the restless creativity of New York City's late-1970s music scene, 'The Now' stood as a fleeting but unforgettable blip on the New Wave radar. Here is a band that burned brightly-playing the gritty Max's Kansas City circuit-before fading almost as quickly as it arrived. Comprised of Jeff Lennon (Geoff InchLipInch Danielik), Mamie Francis, Robin Dee, and Bobby Ore (Bobby Orefiece), 'The Now' was as eclectic as the city they hailed from, blending power pop, retro '60s vibes, punk energy, and even a splash of Jamaican rhythms into a single electric package. This album is the quintessential New Wave time capsule-vivid, fun, and surprisingly ahead of it's time.

Born in an era obsessed with mysticism and the unknown, and long embraced by collectors for it's ambition and strange, searching spirit, this record stands as a rare document of a group determined to turn imagination into something lasting and real.
