Great to be able to travel back in time and play some pokemon! the color is nice and it's so cool to be able to play on the go.

If you have enjoyed playing the original version you will like these and you don't have worry about data loss from a dead battery.

Gold version is an excellent game in the Pokemon gaming franchise. It's very fun and nostalgic!

The same great Pokémon game that was released nearly 20 years ago. While it is the same Game Boy Color game ported to the Nintendo 3DS, the digital version provides slight enhancements over the originals, such as having wireless communications that make Pokémon trades and battles more convenient, and the ability to transport and use Pokémon caught in the game to the newer 3DS Pokémon games (Sun/Moon and Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon), although a paid subscription of $5/year to Pokémon Bank (digital title) is also required. I'd recommend to those who had previously played Gold/Silver, as well as to newer players curious about how the older Pokémon games were like.

I love this game! I'm so glad Nintendo dropped Gen 2 on the eShop; it has been so much fun going back to the original version of Gold. Gen 2 was the first Pokemon game I ever played, so it's been a perfect nostalgia trip. And the $8 pricetag definitely beats the $100+ price it would cost to get an original copy and a Gameboy. Definitely a must buy!

Awesome original nintendo game it was easy to play but also had some challenging battles the background theme was pretty dissapointing thhough. If you see this though it wouldn't hurt to buy it the game costs the same both ways.

If you are a fan of the Pokémon series this game is worth a look. Gold is a version of the original Pokémon game from years past where you try to catch them all and beat all the gym leaders. This was originally released for the Gameboy / Gameboy Color in the early 90's.

I never owned the original games, especially since I wasn't into the series of games until the 3rd generation (Hoenn, and specifically Emerald). I own the remake for DS, but this is a great way to experience the original. Plus, it came with a free Celebi

I started playing Pokemon shortly after this game was originally released. After giving it some thought, I decided to purchase this digital copy to find out what I missed. I do not regret this purchase at all. It is truly a great game.

Played this as a kid (about 12 times and I restarted everytime) and bought it to play again without battery loss like the original cartridges. Was it a nostalgia purchase? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes. 10/10 would recommend.

The game plays great on the 3DS! Easy peasy to redeem the code that came right away too.

Classic Pokemon game. One of the better older Pokemon games.

Love Gen 2 Pokemon games. Good ports. Great that trading is preserved.
