Polica - Shulamith - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Polica began as a collaboration between fellow Gayngs' members Channy Leaneagh and Ryan Olson in June of 2011. By July the pair had completed 11 songs, made the key additions of two drummers and a bass player, and headed into the studio to put the finishing touches on what would become Polica's debut album, Give You the Ghost. After Mike Noyce (Bon Iver) lent his voice to a couple of tracks, the record was brought to Austin, TX, where it was mixed with Jim Eno (Spoon). With it's sultry R&B rhythms and intensely electro, Goth-pop vibes, Give You the Ghost could not be more perfect.

An extremely talented vocalist, Mickey Ruption's first exposure to the music industry began with InchJump In The Pool,Inch a critically acclaimed single featuring Mickey in a duet with the Jamaican toaster Busta Livingstone, who happens to be Mickey's cousin. The session was intended a be a one-off, but the producers of the single were so impressed by Mickey that they urged him to record more, and were surprised to learn that Mickey had been stockpiling demos since he was a teenager, with surely enough tunes to make an album, or two. The resulting InchLife Is A Carnival,Inch collects 15 of Mickey's compositions, finally brought to life in a professional studio. Well worth the wait, the new album is destined to bring the talents of Mickey Ruption to a much wider audience. One of the standout tracks from the album, the infectious InchRise And Shine,Inch becomes the second single to be released and is presented here featuring the album version and three more exclusive mixes..
