About this product
Limited royal blue colored vinyl LP pressing. CrackedanklesRecords are proud to present Polypores InchWrigglersInch - the latest emergence from Stephen James Buckley's strange and overgrown brainforest, an artist who has seen recent albums crack the national top 40 charts. From the opening bars of lead single 'Memespawn', it is clear that this incendiary is going to defy all precedent Polypores releases. Kicking off with a heady mix of woozy, slewed melody lines and a relentless Motorik beat, it soon breaks down into a gritty instrumental redux and a frenetic syncopated woodwind jazzathon before bursting out again into spine-tingling melody that resembles some deformed cousin of synth-pop. It's beautifully melodic, whilst still maintaining Buckley's trademark sense of the chaotic and the downright wonky. Endlessly listenable electronic music that breathes and moves like a physical organism, and always refuses to stand still. A restless misfit of an artist who inhabits the fringes of whatever scenes he inhabits, Buckley maintains a certain crackling unease throughout the whole thing, but it results in jubilant outbursts and freewheeling joy, tethered only by the mechanical constraints of the machines it's wrought from, like some broken robots have cobbled together an orchestra and they're writing a soundtrack for a film they haven't seen.

Libra Stripes is the second full length record released by Seattle's Polyrhythmics This is a funk record. Multiple-horns, multiple rhythms, and multiple players. This album is a straight-up instrumental attack, where the only voice you hear is the collective force of these eight players hitting all original cuts live and off the floor. Polyrhythmics are not trying to emulate or recreate something that has already been done. This is not Inchretro,Inch or Inchthrowback;Inch this is music being made together, today in The Now. The raw, fresh and genuine sounds captured on Libra Stripes are an instrumental testament to the universal groove and appeal of funk and afrobeat music.Ben Bloom- GuitarJason Gray- BassGrant Schroff- DrumsNathan Spicer- KeyboardsLalo Bello PercussionScott Morning- TrumpetArt Brown- SaxophoneElijah Clark- TromboneRecorded and Mixed by Mel Dettmer at Aleph Studios in Seattle, WAAdditional Tracking at Rezin Tooth Studios, Oceanside Studios, and Blue Mallard Studios, Seattle, WAAdditional Tracking by Jason Gray and Nathan SpicerMixed by Mel Dettmer and Jason GrayDigitally remastered for 2022 by Doug Krebs at Doug Krebs MasteringCover art Danilo OmwisyeLayout by Mason Hastie
