Adapted from a comedy sketch on HBO's "The Chris Rock Show," Pootie Tang is the ultimate super hero. A cool walking, smooth talking ladies man, Pootie is a hero and a role model to all the children. Everybody looks up to Pootie except for the evil Dick Lecter, CEO of Lecter Corp, the company that makes cigarettes, alcohol and fast food. In 1910s France, pacifistic but poor journalist Paul Verin (Claude Rains) wished to better support his loving wife Adele (Joan Bennett), and turned to ghost writing editorials for ambitious Paris Henri Dumont (Lionel Atwill). Verin stopped going along as munitions makers swayed Dumont toward hawkishness-he'd pay a price as his foes connived his deployment to the WWI front lines-and he'd have special payback for Dumont on his homecoming.
