Our engineers have raised the bar on great sound with the introduction of the new 2XL range of coaxial speakers. Completely redesigned for 2016 the 2XL series deliver crystal clear sound quality with deep warm tones. If you need a high quality speaker yet have a vehicle with special mounting requirements, this is the series for you. Whether you need a 4in. or a 6x8in. coaxial, we can fit most needs. We even offer a 6.5in. thin mount speaker where you want all of the bass but do not have much space. The 2XL series also uses the 3-0 system, 3-Ohm impedance for more efficient use of your amplifier's power. With butyl rubber surrounds, you get high efficiency and lower bass response with lower distortion. Our new emperor's silk dome tweeter and non-woven wool paper cone team up to give you deep, warm and accurate sound that you can listen to for hours without fatigue. Our redesigned tweeters are using a very high grade emperors silk that has been enhanced with ferrofluid. Ferrofluid is a liquid infused with magnetic particles that was developed by NASA-it creates less friction resulting in louder distortion free high frequencies.

• Stamped steel non-resonant basket: Each basket has been treated with an acoustical sound reduction coating that greatly reduces sound transmission and reflection which dampens ringing and tinning making the basket acoustically dead.
• Wool or paper composite cone: The premium grade cones contain the optimum ratio of paper to wool resulting in a transducer that is strong and rigid yet lightweight. This offers increased performance and improved low end bass reproduction.
• High damping butyl rubber surround: Selected for efficiency and minimum distortion the surround material is impervious to harsh elements such as salt air, heat and smog. Offers improved output throughout the entire frequency range.
• Emperors silk soft dome tweeter: Very large premium grade hand spun silk tweeters are a full 1-inch (25mm) for most models. The neodymium motor structure and edge wound ribbon wire voice coil provide an extremely wide bandwidth.
• Mylar high pass 6dB crossover: Audiophile grade mylar crossover capacitors were selected for a smoother high frequency response and increased power handling.
• High powered muti-layer 3-ohm voice coil: Kapton is a high temperature voice coil former that is light weight and designed for greater efficiency and increased power handling that provides loud and clean output.
