Prefuse 73 - Extinguished - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Prefuse 73 also known as music wiz kid Scott Herren, drops the follow-up to 2001's seminal VOCAL STUDIES and UPROCK NARRATIVE. The new LP, titled ONE WORD EXTINGUISHER features an eclectic mix of futuristic next-level productions. If you dig innovative electronica... you'll dig Prefuse 73.

Just as the ringin in your ears from the dense, concussive cocktail that was 2005s SURROUNDED BY SILENCE has softened, Prefuse 73 follow-up that album with a master class of sliced-up breakdance noise rock. Where as SILENCE saw Prefuse productions paired with all-star guest like Ghostface, Aesop Rock, BZA, Blonde Redhead and El-P, DECURITY SCREENINGS is a collection of the type of instrumental material that slayed fans in the first place.

2009 . Guillermo Scott Herren (AKA Prefuse 73) is nothing if not proven. It is hard to think of a name that carries as much weight in both Hip Hop and Avant Rock circles as Prefuse 73. For Everything She Touched Turned Ampexian, Herren rejected the idea of straight digital recording. Instead, he went the much more intensive route of recording straight to analog Ampex tape, giving the album the sound of a lost tape of exploratory studio musicians from the not-to-distant past. In addition to the recording process, Ampexian also differs in it's composition, existing as a tapestry of tracks of varying lengths and moods, albeit with a remarkable linear flow and, of course, unmatched rhythmic bump.
