The Cigar Oasis Excel Refill Water Cartridge fits both the Cigar Oasis and Cigar Oasis Excel units. Each cartridge contains a foam core element combined with distilled water and an anti-fungal agent for optimal cigar preservation. This cartridge attaches directly to the electronic Oasis control unit. The fan in the electronic control unit extracts air from inside the humidor and directs it through the cartridge which "charges" the air with moisture. The Cigar Oasis unit then emits the humidified air into the humidor and is then absorbed by the cigars. The rate in which water is consumed will depend on the size of the humidor, how tight the humidor's seal is, and how dry your cigars are. Typically, a refill cartridge in a well-sealed humidor loaded with 75-125 cigars that is opened 3-5 times a week could last as long as 9 to 12 months. The Cigar Oasis Excel water cartridge may be refilled once or twice with distilled water only. Please note that the foam core block that is situated within the cartridge breaks down over time and will begin to hold less water. Also in time the antifungal agent will deplete.
