- Description: Vinyl LP pressing. Ambitions is Prins Thomas' sixth album and his second solo effort for Smalltown Supersound (plus two duo albums with Bjørn Torske and Bugge Wesseltoft). The eight track collection picks up from were he left off with Principe Del Norte, but the tracks are shorter, more melodic and more concise. Prins Thomas also offers up his first vocal track with lead single InchFeel A Love.Inch Or to be precise, it's based around a sample of the track InchFeel A LoveInch by one of the biggest pop-stars in Norway in the '70s and '80s, the late Alex (Naumik). InchThe sun rises, the sun sets. This collection of new songs wasn't intended as an album at first,Inch Prins Thomas explains. InchIt gathers up loose ideas sketched down on my computer or hummed into my handheld recorder in the last two years with a shifting work environment, from hotel rooms in San Francisco, backstage in Osaka, on a plane from Miami to Chicago, my garden patio, and finally my B15 Studios in Asker. The common thread was found later during overdubbing and reworking these sketches under the critical ears of tag boss Joakim Haugland. Most of the tracks were finalized in the studio at the same time as my previous collaborative album with Bugge Wesseltoft. Bugge even kindly joins in on the album's closing track.Inch

Around the Fur the follow-up to Deftones' passionate, aggressive Adrenaline, sees the California quartet expanding on the sheer rage of their earlier work, adding new, more sinister shades to their already extreme sound. The opening InchMy Own Summer (Shove It),Inch serves as an introduction to the album's sonic theme sinewy guitars and eerie whispers alternate with fast, violent crunch. Sepultura's Max Cavallero contributes guitar and vocals to InchHeadup,Inch while InchMXInch finds singer Chino trading off vocal lines with Annalynn Cunningham, (wife of Deftones' drummer Abe) in an acerbic take on the rock star mentality. Vocal acrobat Moreno attacks a variety of styles his breathy, psychotic recitations sound downright industrial, while the album's calmer, more brooding moments show his gift for haunting melody. Behind him, guitarist Stephen Carpenter's heavy wall of sound is astoundingly muscular, yet inspiringly agile. When Deftones' hellish fury hits full tilt, as it always does on this album, Moreno's voice erupts into screams which are best described as otherworldly, transforming this intense musical firestorm into a hurtling juggernaut of aggression. Purple Rain is the sixth studio album by Prince, the first to feature his backing band The Revolution, and is the soundtrack album to the 1984 film of the same name. Purple Rain is regularly ranked among the best albums in music history, and is widely regarded as Prince's magnum opus.
