A: Here’s how the Pyle PTVSP18BK works with your TV’s audio: Does it mute the TV speakers or play along with them? It depends on how you connect it to your TV: 1. Headphone Jack Connection (3.5 mm) If you plug the base into your TV’s headphone jack, most TVs automatically mute the internal TV speakers when a headphone/aux cable is detected. So the sound will go only to the PTVSP18BK and not out of the TV’s speakers. 2. RCA Audio-Out Ports (Red/White) If you connect the base to the RCA audio outputs on the back of your TV, then in most cases the TV’s speakers will not be muted and you’ll get audio both from the TV and the PTVSP18BK at the same time.
