Pyorrhoea - Desire for Torment - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

The African American folk music artists Alex Foster & Michel Larue recorded this historic in depth collection of authentic slave songs originating from pre Civil War days to the plantations of the South from the turn of the 20th century. Recorded in 1958, the album includes the first recording by black performers of InchFollow the Drinking GourdInch which was later covered by Taj Mahal, John Coltrane and many others. All selections newly remastered.

Today the leading track InchSomewhere Up In The MountainsInch is considered to be a true genre classic. It's lyrics are quite unusual. Drummer Gary Pope explains how the song was originally created InchI wrote the lyrics and arranged it with my brother Kevin. To be honest, I thought it much too commercial for the NWOBHM. I do love a good hook/chorus. Inch According to Gary, Marquis de Sade (and their forerunner Mixdix) only ever recorded the two single tracks plus InchLiving In The Ice AgeInch, InchWelcome To The GraveyardInch and InchLondon AirInch. All six tracks that Marquis de Sade have ever recorded are featured on the High Roller album InchSomewhere Up In The MountainsInch. As usual the material has been carefully re-mastered by Patrick W. Engel at this Temple Of Disharmony.

With 1992's Pathogenic Ocular Dissonance, Tourniquet continued to ascend in both critical acclaim and as artists. The band made it onto Heaven's Metal Magazine's Top 100 Christian Metal Albums of All Time for a third time in three albums. Reviewer Chris Beck commented, InchArguably their best album, Tourniquet achieved near perfection from beginning to end with brutally heavy guitars and lyrics.Inch Musically, the album goes for a more aggressive thrash metal direction. The songs are complicated, technical and feature experiments with styles such as jazz, classical, and blues. The album introduced more Slayer-esque shouting vocal patterns by Gary Lenaire as well as a darker atmosphere. Guy Ritter sang less on the album than on previous Tourniquet albums. The 2020 reissue is reloaded with a 16-page insert with loads of never-before-seen band pics, and four exclusive bonus tracks never-before-released (two live tracks and two demo tracks). And, you also get an all-new 2020 remaster by Rob Colwell of Bombworks Sound which makes this is THE ultimate collector's dream for deluxe reissues! Tourniquet has earned six GMA Dove Award nominations and won recognition globally from magazines such as Modern Drummer, Guitar Player, Metal Hammer, and HM Magazine, where Tourniquet was voted InchFavorite Band of the 1990sInch and won InchFavorite Album of the 1990s.Inch Tourniquet has sold more than 300,000 albums.
