Produced by Roy Thomas Baker and Queen, it was reportedly the most expensive album ever recorded at the time of it's . Queen was straining at the boundaries of hard rock and heavy metal on Sheer Heart Attack, but they broke down all the barricades on A Night at the Opera, a self-consciously ridiculous and overblown hard rock masterpiece. Using the multi-layered guitars of it's predecessor as a foundation, A Night at the Opera encompasses hard rock (InchDeath on Two Legs,Inch InchSweet LadyInch), pop (the lovely, shimmering InchYou're My Best FriendInch), campy British music hall (InchLazing on a Sunday Afternoon,Inch InchSeaside RendezvousInch), and mystical prog rock (Inch'39,Inch InchThe Prophet's SongInch), eventually bringing it all together on the pseudo-operatic InchBohemian Rhapsody.Inch In short, it's a lot like Queen's own version of Led Zeppelin IV, but where Zep find dark menace in bombast, Queen celebrate their own pomposity. No one in the band takes anything too seriously, otherwise the arrangements wouldn't be as ludicrously exaggerated as they are. But the appeal - and the influence - of A Night at the Opera is in it's detailed, meticulous productions. Limited vinyl LP pressing. A Fever You Can't Sweat Out is the debut studio album by Las Vegas-based alt-rock band Panic! At the Disco. Produced by Matt Squire, the album was released on September 27, 2005, on Decaydance and Fueled by Ramen. The group formed in Las Vegas in 2004 and began posting demos online, which caught the attention of Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz. Wentz signed the group to his own imprint tag, Decaydance, without them having ever performed live. The album was recorded on a small budget at SOMD! Studios in College Park, Maryland over several weeks in June 2005. The group had only graduated high school one month before. With lyrics written by lead guitarist/backing vocalist Ryan Ross, the record covers social issues and topics such as sanctity of marriage, adultery, mental health, alcoholism and prostitution are woven throughout the album. The album is divided into halves stylistically; the first half is primarily pop punk with elements of electronic, while the second employs more traditional instrumentation, with influences of baroque pop and swing. The album sold well, charting at the number 2 position on the Billboard 200 in it's premiere week, selling over 231, 000 copies and staying on the charts for 78 weeks.
