A: I was also highly disappointed that quicken went the way of “Microsoft Office” program with the yearly subscription tactic. This is nothing more than a money grab. I believe you can buy the program outright for a now astronomical price but the days of purchasing it for under $75.00 are long gone. You might do some research out there for another company/ program that will act as a automatic check book but be very careful on allowing this to connect directly to your bank account to balance. That is the only down side I see. Good luck and post something if you strike gold out there with something similar.
Q: What is the annual fee to update quicken?
A: Depends on what version you’re using. $35.00 and up for annual license.
A: I use the starter package. According to Quicken, you will lose software updates and the ability to down/upload transactions directly with your bank. My advise, ditch the yearly fee, use your banks website directly and transcribe transactions to Quicken. It's a simple solution to Quickens money grab.

A: yes, I had many years worth of information and several accounts and all transferred easily to Quicken. I cannot say the same for other products out there on the market that i tried.
