As we enter the festive season, summer may seem like a distant memory, but not for long. The Quireboys would like to invite their fans to relive one of their highlights of 2022 via the band's new concert album 'Orchestral Quireboys Live'. To set the scene, it was an evening which saw the legendary rockers descend upon the capital for perhaps one of the group's most remarkable shows to date. A night where classic rock met classical music under the roof of the legendary O2 Forum Kentish Town. On this landmark occasion in The Quireboys' history, the band was accompanied by a string quartet and a brass trio, adding a new dimension to the group's tried and tested sound. Collectively The Quireboys' extended ensemble reimagined tracks from the band's extensive back catalogue. If you were at the show in London and would like to relive the experience - then read on. Thankfully, for fans and followers alike, The Quireboys preserved the memory of this unique live experience via their new concert album/film titled 'Orchestral Quireboys Live'. The King's Singers celebrate their 50th anniversary with a celebratory 3-album set, combining three complete programs of Close Harmony, Spiritual and Secular pieces. The King's Singers write InchThe current incarnation of King's Singers approached this 50th Anniversary with great excitement - albeit with some trepidation! How could we possibly create an album (or, as it turned out, three albums!) that would reflect all the group's work over five decades, honoring it's history and the achievements of our predecessors? In the end, we decided to go back to basics. We spent months trawling through programs and recordings to finalize this selection of music old favorites that the group has performed for decades jostle for position with more recent additions (both classical and pop), and compete with brand new works commissioned especially for this project. A long-list of well over a hundred pieces has been whittled down to a final track-list of around sixty that, we feel, represents all the styles and musical epochs that The King's Singers have championed across five decades of performance and recording.Inch

South London members Alan Lancaster (bass) and Francis Rossi (guitar) were the original members and founders of Status Quo. Formerly known as The Spectres and later renamed to Traffic or Traffic Jam they settled for Status Quo as their band name in 1967. The following years they were joined by John Coghlan (drums), Roy Lynes (keyboard) and Rick Parfitt (guitar †2016), and after several band members changes are still performing today in a revamped line-up. In 1968 their first hit record 'Pictures of Matchstick Men' was released and the debut album soon followed. The subsequent years Status Quo, or simply Quo, enjoyed a multitude of hits; 'Mean Girl', 'Down Down', 'Rockin' All Over The World', 'The Wanderer', 'In The Army Now', 'Roll Over Lay Down (Live)', all climbed the charts in different countries. During the years Status Quo developed their own signature style of heavy rhythms, a few guitar chords, straightforward, accessible lyrics and collected a huge and loyal fan base. In 2006 NME magazine named Status Quo 'The Most Successful UK band' as they achieved more chart hits than any other British band. The 2 LP Collected compilation is an era spanning selection of Status Quo including the hits, 4 original mono recordings 'Pictures Of Matchstick Men', 'Ice In The Sun', 'I (Who Have Nothing)' by The Spectres, 'Almost But Not Quite There' by Traffic Jam and is newly remastered for vinyl. This limited edition includes a 4-page booklet with liner notes and is packed in a limited gatefold embossed 'guitar' sleeve.
