Red Seal - Spinning Top - 12-INCH SINGLE [12 inch Vinyl Single]

Only a handful of releases exist from Red Seal, but it's quality over quantity that is on display with these guys. The 1996 original was released on Rob's Records, a tag founded by the legendary Rob Gretton (RIP), former Joy Divisionand New Order manager, as well as Factory Records and Hacienda co-owner. Penned by Red Seal and produced byMartin Moscrop, of A Certain Ratio fame, this 3 tracker would set the World's dancefloors alight and become a much laudedand bonafide classic.'Spinning Top' kicks off with flanged hats and dark brooding synths, the breakbeat is tough and delivers a potent punch. The wam analogue bass keeps the track moving throughout, the distinctive lead line and arpeggios build and dropin all the right places. 'Twister' continues the vibe, the heavy weight bass and top drawer percussion deliver the funk. The deft synth programming gives this track a lighter feel, but is no less energetic. Finally 'Hula Loop' heads off into trippedout acid territory, the break beats roll, and the infectious 303 undulates in a way that both captivates and enthralls. This EP is packed with peak time heat, an essential rarity sought after by diggers around the globe. Unavailable for decades,a repress has most definitely been long overdue. 'Spinning Top' has been legitimately re-released with the full involvementof Red Seal, lovingly remastered by London's Curve Pusher from the original sources especially for Mint Condition. 100% legit, licensed and released. Dug, remastered, repackaged and brought to you by the caring folks at your favorite reissue tag -Mint Condition!!Tracklisting A1. Spinning TopB1. Twister B2. Hula Loop

Schuen Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra Lintu - Symphony 2 - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Austrian composer Thomas Larcher (b. 1963) is one of the great symphonists of our era. This album by the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and conductor Hannu Lintu includes the first recording of his 2nd Symphony, 'Kenotaph', and the song cycle 'Die Nacht der Verlorenen' performed by the world-known baritone Andrè Schuen. Larcher's symphony was written in 2015-2016 to a commission from the National Bank of Austria for it's bicentenary. The premiere was given by the Vienna Philharmonic under Semyon Bychkov at the Musikverein in Vienna in June 2016. Larcher's work, originally intended as a concerto for orchestra, engages with tradition as a fertile background, while still embodying the sound and consciousness of our time. The subtitle to Larcher's work was motivated by the painful awareness of the thousands of refugees who have drowned in the Mediterranean. The work can also be understood as a more general meditation on human tragedy and an exploration of profound existential issues. Larcher ties the material of the work together with a strong sense of dramaturgy, intense emotional expression and a feeling for musical narrative. The song cycle 'Die Nacht der Verlorenen' for baritone and large ensemble sets fragments by Ingeborg Bachmann (1926-1973) that were posthumously published. Bachmann's dark texts inspired Larcher to write intense and compelling music that is entirely in tune with the mood of the poems. Overall, the work is dominated by slow, meditative and often dreamlike and unreal moods, effectively underpinned by delicate and carefully designed scoring that conjures up a multitude of colors and shades.
