I’ve had three previous Razer keyboards because they and Corsair are consistently top tier for their target audience, and that is GAMERS. For years, keyboard enthusiasts who are enthusiasts first bash on Razer keyboards for not being good enthusiast keyboards. That’s never been the point. Until now. Historically, I’ve never been willing to compromise my very low latency and response time in exchange for something as subjective as “thock”, but I was curious about custom boards because they can continually be reinvented to your liking. Sounded fun. My Huntsman Mini with linear optical switches was my go to for gaming because it had decent response time, and allowed me to retain most of my mouse mat for FPS. My Pro Type Ultra was actually faster than most keyboards on the market, and on par with Razer, Corsair’s best (1.5ms latency), but it didn’t get much use except for Excel and work because of its size. This keyboard brings the arrow, function keys back while not taking much more space than my 60% board. The perfect size for many users, unless you need a 10 key pad. It’s blistering fast, highly customizable in RGB, Key Mapping, Macros. It’s comfortable to use for work and play. I strongly disagree with the people complaining about the wrist rest. It’s a dense, plush foam. I can’t imagine disliking it unless I was a constantly sweating person. But even still, I don’t make much use of it. The keyboard feels just fine without the wrist rest, unlike my previous keyboards. As far as custom keyboards go, this is new to me. I can’t comment on customizing the board yet, because I was so pleasantly surprised with the orange tactile keys in both feel and sound that I wasn’t missing my silent linear keys whatsoever. The typing sound is pleasant, and did immediately remind me of the tone that I’ve often seen shared from keyboard enthusiasts on YouTube. Even as a novice, I know Razer keyboards have some keys with scratchy or hollow sounding notes, and that is indeed the case with the space bar and Enter key. As others have noted, you can fix this with CUSTOMIZING the board with different stabilizers and lube. I think the Razer haters / keyboard enthusiasts will still hate this. They’ll say it’s much more expensive than their Keychron or other custom boards. They’re missing the point, as they always have with Razer. Razer is a gaming brand first. Keychron has been a keyboard brand first. So if you’re weighing a gaming keyboard against that, yeah it’ll seem overpriced. If you’re a gamer that doesn’t want to compromise on gaming performance but would like to customize it over your course of ownership, or you’d like to be able to easily repair it upon switch failure, you can’t go wrong with this. The criticism for Razer’s switch prices is also misguided. The point of a custom keyboard is you aren’t forced into one brand’s switches. Three pin and five pins from most brands will work just fine. Is it a premium price? Of course it is. Razer has always been that way. But if you’re a Razer / gaming enthusiast, I doubt you’ll be disappointed. As far as criticism goes, I’ve already noted the larger keys would’ve benefitted from different stabilizers and more lube. The criticism I saw another reviewer put against Home and End being tied to a Fn subset is valid, but I’m not returning mine over it. Razer could easily address it with Synapse updates. The side under glow is too understated in my opinion. Could’ve used more LEDs or wider lens for more light diffusion. It’s a great, but expensive keyboard for any hardcore gamer looking to dabble in custom keyboards. If you’re not a Razer fan, or if you’re a casual gamer, or a keyboard enthusiast, I’d suggest considering other options before this, purely from a price standpoint.

Glad its hot swap as i am not a fan of tactile switches i put akko speed switches in mine and love it takes custom coiled cables from cabke mod and i am already a fan of the razer eco system and the rgb is bright somthing that i feel is lack luster in the custom keyboard market i knkw south facing leds give issues with chustom keycaps but i have never gad any issues with it. Now using the akko switches and xvx pudding keycaps its soft feeling and to me sounds like lego bricks being built in lego games. The cushion arm rest is also cumfotable. I havnt used the 8000 hrz polling i dont play any ganes that i would notice it in but all in all for a keyboard that you can customize i feel its a defent price compared to other offerings on the custom keyboard market you do have cheaper good options but again the razer eco system lighting the custom tape mod i think make up for it. I would deffintly take it over a gmmk pro which is 150 more you can go cheaper for a keycron or a epo maker but i feel you loose some of the cleaner stuff that razer does. And if you want a wireless there is the asus azoth but hands down i think the razer is better slightly than all the others being in between the prices and having some the best keyboard modes already in the board and i will say i may mot be a fan of tactile switches for gaming i do really like the razer orange switches for typing and if i had to use them i would but i dont cause its a hot swap keyboar

This is definitely my favorite keyboard. Ive found most other mechanical keyboards obnoxiously clicky or overly sensitive and mushy, this one hits the spot so perfectly and the aluminum gives it such a premium feel, really love this thing. Im not big on rgb but the lighting in this is so nice i ended up making it the main feature of my little gaming corner, so thats a plus too.

Really nice keyboard. Solid build. And yes, it is true, double typing happens after a while. For me, it’s like a month or 2 perfectly fine then started double typing. However, I went in with the knowledge that it might happened. So I bought Razer’s key switches set already. Swapped the bad ones whenever it has problem, so far I switched out 3 switches. Buyers be aware, other than that. No other issues.

After purchasing the razer huntsman mini for over $120, I thought I would never buy another Razer keyboard again-- the keyboard had loud, annoying, and unlubed clicky switches, the stabilizers were poorly installed, and the worst part is that even if I had wanted to fix the keyboard up, I couldn't. Upon walking into Best Buy and trying this keyboard, I fell in love: the sound and feel was superb, the board comes stock modded with foam and tape, pre-lubed tactile orange switches, it is hotswappable, has signature razer rgb backlighting, and the quality is insane. I have thoroughly enjoyed using this keyboard and am happy to continue using it for my gaming.

I enjoy this keyboard. Razer has done a good thing in creating this one. the Razer Blackwidow v4 feels and sounds great! i do keep having issues with some of the keys not working 100% how they should be. some will not work at all in game and prevent me from finishing tasks, others will double type and stutter to input. never had this issue before this exact keyboard, as i’ve returned mine a couple times and bought others with the same issues.

I have used Razer keyboards for the better part of 8 years and I have to say they really hit it out of the park with this one. It feels extremely sturdy, well built, and premium. It looks and functions extremely well. I am also a fan of the orange switches as it’s tactile enough to know you are typing the correct keys but also quiet enough as to not be a nuisance when typing a paper for school. It is a steep price but it is well worth it.

This keyboard is the best keyboard I’ve bought in years the way it sounds and is so reactive to the touch and the customization that is available is crazy with all the different RGB colors you can use and the buttons that you can switch out it’s just amazing would definitely recommend buying one

Was wanting an all white keyboard and saw this beauty. This compared to my old Corsair k95 platinum, the black widow v4 is so much better. Love the stock mods and switches on this.

The good: hot swappable design, pre lubed switches and stabs, 75% form factor, RGB (if you like it), excellent media controls. The bad: RGB (if you don't like it), included switches may not be for everyone, expensive to customize, razer synapse still no bueno In the box: keeyboard, wrist rest, braided white usb-c cable, keycap puller, documentation So first things first, I love this board. As soon as I pulled it out of the packaging and got my hands on I was impressed. This board has the razer orange tactile switches (gen3) and I love them. They have the tactile feel that I like (longtime mx blue user) but the sound and feel of them is terrific. This is easly the best typing experience I've had on a prebuilt keeb. The switches come prelubed from the factory and you can tell. The travel and sound of them is so nice. Nowhere near as loud as other switches, though the spacebar is noticeably louder. You'd be hard pressed to build even the cheapest custom board for this price. Having said that, if these switches aren't to your taste, it can get expensive. If you want to replace them and don't already know which switches you'd prefer, grab a cheap sampler online. The stabilizers on the longer keys also come pre lubed and are just great in general. As mentioned the space bar is slightly louder than the other keys, but that's normal. Design-wise it's a pretty standard 75% layout. You lose your number pad keys and the key cluster that lives above your arrow keys on a full sized board. No big deal for me, though I do miss print screen for screen capture. I love the size for gaming, gives me much more room for my mouse. You get a very nice volume rocker with discrete stops, mute switch, and media play/pause key. I really like this setup. The caps lock key turns white win enabled. The white colorway looks fantastic with or without RGB, but with RGB it really shines. Even with completely opaque keycaps, which feel great, the board just looks gorgeous. Oh yeah the keycaps, they're ABS not doubleshot PBT which are widely regarded as the best for quality and longevity. These feel really well made though, not thin chintzy caps so right now I'm not worried. Worst case scenario you can grab a keycap set you like (make sure you select a set with the correct stems). To get the most out of the board though you're going to have to install razer synapse. The bad news is that synapse is as bloated as ever, and frankly not worth the trouble. Razer has been iterating on this for years now, and to be honest it's about average as far as this kind of software is concerned. It's at the very least on par from what other manufacturers are putting out. If you want to get deep into customization you're going to have to use it. But there is some good news. If you're on windows 11, a recent update has brought RGB control to a wide range of peripherals. When I first plugged in the board a razer synapse prompt popped up. I kind of groaned, but then another popup appeared asking me if I wanted windows to control the lighting. It's more limited than what you can do with synapse for sure, but the convenience of not having another piece of software running the background, a piece of software that's going to fight with my cooler and mobo software ... totally worth that small sacrifice. I did check out synapse for the extra rgb effects and other features, but it's just not worth it for me. So you have options finally which is nice. The wrist rest is a nice touch. I never use these things since they're usually just cheap plastic, but this one is a soft leatherish material. Feels super comfortable. It's also magnetic, not so strong that you have to pry it off the board, but strong enough so it'll stay in place. This is a big step up from the cheap plastic wrist rests that snap onto the bottom of your board. It's a nice touch, though i am concerned about it's durability, and whether or not it'll discolor. Such is the life of white peripheral enjoyer. I feel worth mentioning that this is not my first mechanical keyboard. I've only used prebuilt boards because well, I'm not a millionaire, and I can't justify the price for the kind of build I'd be interested in. I have used a lot of mechanical boards though. I went through three razer blackwidow ultimate boards back in the day (and another 5 or 6 non razer boards since), each one developed a fault with some of the switches right around the one year mark. There would be cross talk or chatter or other issues. It was very disappointing because I loved those boards, they were pretty much the only option back then. I chalk that up to using different switches. It happens. But that is one of the massive benefits of having a hotswappable board. You don't have to junk your expensive board if one switch goes bad, you can just grab some more switches (pricey but still cheaper than a new board) and replace the bad one. Of course you'll want to grab a switch puller which is not included. These are relatively cheap, but still ... it would've been nice to have one included as well as a few extra switches. Final thoughts: Overall, this is just an insanely good keyboard. If you're new to mech keebs, or you've only ever used prebuilt keebs, this is definitely worth a look. There are some downsides such as reliance on synapse software for full customization and only one switch option, but that will vary depending on personal preference. Personally I'm happy with a simple static RGB color, and I LOVE these switches so neither of these is a problem. Razer should offer this board with their other switches, I honestly can't fathom why they haven't. Different switch options, spare switches, and a switch puller, would easily make this the perfect package, but even without those it's so close. Just a great keyboard whether you're into gaming or productivity. The ergonomics of a board like this for long typing sessions can't be beat. It's simply fantastic.

Love the keyboard. It sits a little high and the hand rest then sits your hand a little too high but thats reall my only gripes. Added keycaps and love it

I have used many keyboards, especially razer keyboard. I have never, in my life been this happy with a keyboard. I am not even one to write reviews but this product is THAT good. I would rate it six stars if I could. These orange switches are easily the best switch I have ever used in any keyboard ever. The space bar on this keyboard might be the most satisfying thing to press on the planet. If the price isn't a problem for you this keyboard is FLAWLESS. 11/10, incredible.
