Razer Kishi is an essential accessory for your mobile gaming, as the Android gaming environment improves more console quality games are coming available. This controller fits (albeit tight) the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G, and is compatible with several games I play. Diablo Immortal, Streets of Rage 4, GRID: Autosport, Fortnite, Ducktales Remastered, and more. The only cons are it doesn't work for Apex Legends or Call of Duty: Mobile. Including those I have a list of 6 games that the Dualshock 4 controller works with the Razer Kishi doesn't. Good build quality, the sticks feel great, buttons are smooth, triggers a little mushy. D-pad is accurate enough for Street Fighter IV Championship Edition (Mobile version, controller supported in game not in menu after full game purchase) Steamlink, Game Pass, GeForce Now compatible, PS Remote Play is not compatible. Direct USB-c and pass-through charging.

The controller feels good and works very well. However, it only works if your phone can fit in the middle without it's case on. This can be inconvenient and makes the controller less universal. The controller also doesn't offer a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Limitations aside, it's a great controller to get when it's on sale.

Fits & feels great on Samsung Galaxy S8, works really well for Steam Link, Geforce Now & Xbox Game Pass Cloud! Build quality is solid and the joystick and buttons and triggers feels just like my xbox 360 controller (minus the d-pad), and better than the switch lite's controls. Passthrough charging works as intended with a blue LED indicator that it's happening. It doesn't have connectivity via bluetooth or a headphone port (which would be my dream peripheral), but this is probably the most premium in its class. The updated Xbox version just relabels the buttons so not really missing out on anything for the $20 price tag reduction.

Great Device for moblie gaming. It is more comfortable and responsive than connecting a wireless controller w/ a grip. It just fits my note 20 ultra and you should note that you most likely will have to remove your phonecase during use.

This is a great mouse for the price. I do like how accurate it is and how I can adjust the sensitivity with the click of one button on top. The bluetooth connection was not that great but the 2.4ghz connection with the dongle is incredible. I do wish it didn't feel as cheap as it does. I feels like it was make of cheap plastics. overall an amazing mouse. Would recommend!

Great Item for gaming on the go, only reason didn't give 5 stars was the fact u need to REMOVE your phone case every time you want to use it, which can be a pain in the butt removing frequently and putting back on.... should of made it for the case to be able to fit

Straight out of the box I noticed that this controller is compact. It resembles a medium-size controller when folded. It is also light, which makes it much more portable than a full-size controller and adapter. To open it up, one must depress some clips by the backplate and pull it apart. There is a band that is sort of elastic that holds each side together. The build is decent and seems that it can withstand some heavy usage. According to Razer, this controller is compatible with several popular phones out there, including my Note 8, which fits perfectly snug and secure. The right side has a USB-C port that connects it to the phone’s connector. The Left side was a bit wobbly, but nothing that bothered me when using it. The controller is ergonomic and easy to hold -even with one hand. The buttons felt mostly decent. I will say that the action buttons and the D-Pad were a bit on the mushy side. The analog sticks have a good range, are springy, and click nicely. The top shoulder buttons are OK, but I would have liked for them to be a bit wider. The bottom shoulder buttons did feel the cheapest, especially since those are mostly used as triggers and/or an accelerator. Again, these little nitpicks do not negatively affect gameplay. When it comes to games, there is a good amount that is fully compatible right out of the gate. However, there are some very popular games such as PUBG and COD: M that, unfortunately, do not work at all and that is truly a bummer. That alone would turn away some mobile gamers, but I think Razer will release updates later on. What made this an instant success, however, was that the Kishi was fully compatible with MS’ xCloud and Stadia. Now I can play AAA titles on the go without having to carry around a full-size controller and adapter. Since this controller is connected directly to the phone, there was no noticeable input lag as it would with a Bluetooth controller. Sadly, the Kishi covers the headphone jack and a wireless headset must be used (hopefully one with little lag). You can also use a USB-C to headphone adapter since the Kishi does feature a pass-through USB-C port on the right side. This additional port allows for powering the phone during those long gaming sessions. In the end, I think the Kishi is the best-designed controller adapter for most phones. I will suggest checking to see if the controller is compatible with your favorite games before buying. For anyone with a cloud-based streaming game subscription, it is certainly a game-changer.

Tuesday, September 29, 2020 7:31 PM The Razer Kishi was an extremely surprising experience that I will say single handedly made me consider gaming more on my phone. I felt like I was playing a Switch or PSP from back in the day. It was refreshing to not have to find battery chargers or games to use, it was just powered by the phone. Sound from the ports was immersive and setup is easy just release the backplate, spread and connect the Kishi to your Android phone, download the Kishi app, and start trying games because there isn't a great list to choose IMO. I wish there was a readily accessible list of compatible games to refer to. In all, the Kishi is a great piece of tech, but I wish it would integrate a headphone jack, ports for top firing speakers, and a little more width/height to fit larger phones like the Note 20 Ultra. I found it doesn't work with CoD Mobile which was a big bummer as I could not find any good FPS that I knew. This doesn't work with all games and the instructions could be better. Maybe there could be a way to direct the buyer to download the Kishi app. I couldn't find it mentioned anywhere. The triggers feel cheap but all other buttons feel high quality. Overall I enjoyed gaming on my phone because of this. I don't have to play with touch controls on screen which was a big negative for me. These handles would benefit from a grippy coating as an added premium feel. This works well with FortNite, Madden, and NBA 2K when I tested. Since it is light, small, and portable to travel with, this is a must buy. However, I do wish a case of some sort or bag was included to protect it.

Razer Kishi is a mobile controller designed to be plugged in directly to your mobile device to eliminate any input lag. When attached to your mobile device it feels very similar like holding a Switch in handheld mode. It’s much more comfortable to hold like this compared to a controller using a clip to hold your device. Usually with that type of setup if you have a big phone like a Galaxy Note 10+ most of the weight ends up in the top causing hand fatigue after some time. Hardware: Razer has been in the business for some time making high end pc accessories and it shows here. It’s a solid device with good button switches. Joysticks are not loose and the trigger buttons are comfortable to use. On top of that they’re actually pressure sensitive which will greatly benefit racing games like Grid and Real Racing 3. Layout is very similar to an Xbox One controller. The controller is designed to work with most Android phones. When attaching it to my Galaxy Note 10+ it was firmly held in place. If you have a film screen protector most likely it will caused it to peel from the corners. I also had to remove my phone case in order to be able to attach it. The right side has 2 speaker holes and a pass through charging port so you can still game when the battery starts to get low. Game Support: I was disappointed to see that games like Fortnite and Call of Duty are currently not supported. You do have support for game streaming services like Gamepass and Google Stadia. I wasn’t able to test out GeForce Now but I’m confident that it’s supported too. Other games that fully support it were the Grand Theft Auto series, Rayman games and the racing games I mentioned earlier. I also had no issues using it with emulators. Some of the old games like Modern Combat did detect the controller but not the joysticks. If you have plenty of old games from 6 years ago you might run into some compatibility issues. App: Another area I was disappointed with was the lack of button customization. Hopefully Razer can release an update that will allow you to map the hardware buttons. The app also provides firmware updates. The app pretty much acts like a game launcher hub letting you know which games are fully supported. Overall: If you spend a lot of time gaming on your mobile device the Razer Kishi is an excellent option especially if you have Gamepass. It’s comfortable to use and buttons that are up there with the Xbox One and PS4 controller as in terms of quality and feedback. If there was support for the current top 2 games in the mobile market (Call of Duty and Fortnite) I would have given it a 5 out of 5 stars. I wasn’t too sure how well this controller would work, but this is a pretty well thought out design. Wow.. this is way better than I ever thought! Basically this thing has an elastic material between the two controller halves. When closed there are two little clasps on the back that keep it locked together. You push on those, and they release. You put your phone in between, and provided you have a phone within the dimensions they say will fit, 145.3 – 163.7 mm x 68.2 - 78.1 mm x 7.0 - 8.8 mm, and one end goes into the USB-C male part on the right side of the Kishi. In my case, I have a fairly large phone, though not a very popular one, the LG v30, and while it does fit just fine, I have a very slim case on it, and it has to be removed every time you want to put the controller on it. The rear of the controller once on, will also block any rear phone face buttons, like a fingerprint reader. As soon as the controller is on, your android phone will power it. No bluetooth connection here. No worries about charging your controller while on the go. The controller itself has a USB-C pass through on the bottom of it, so you can charge your phone as you play. The only downside I have seen to this is while it will charge your phone, in my case on my LGv30 with QuickCharge 3.0, it just will not charge using the QuickCharger tech. It charges at a slow speed. That was a little disappointing but not a deal breaker. Another nice thing is that there are 2 small speaker holes that let sound get out from your phone, and amplifies it in the process. This actually works pretty well too. Unfortunately, there is no way to get sound to a wired pair of headphones, for phones that still have a headphone jack, while the controller is plugged in. I had to use wireless bluetooth headphones. Most mid-range and higher phones these days don’t have a headphone jack anymore sadly, but I did find that my bluetooth headphones worked great while testing them in conjunction with the controller. In fact, I would imagine most people while playing games on their phone, would want to have headphones on anyway, especially on public transportation, or maybe late night in bed near someone who is sleeping. Just another note here, the USB-C pass thru port will not let you connect a wired USB-C headphone either. It will only allow pass through charging. I am not really an android mobile gamer, so the rest of my review is based on using it on the new Xbox Game Pass Ultimate - Cloud Gaming system, just launched to the general public several weeks ago. And in my use this controller works great!! Razer Kishi Android controller here, is the same as the more recently released Razer Kishi Xbox edition (that is also more expensive). The only real difference is Xbox branding, and buttons that are labeled the same as they are on an Xbox One.Also the colors of the A and B button are different, than original Xbox one controllers. But everything is functionally exactly the same. Controller itself works great. While not as good as the original Xbox One controller itself, the buttons are pretty good, and aren’t too stiff. The triggers are better than I thought they would be too. If there is something that could be better here is the d-pad on this controller. They are just a tad to squishy for my tastes personally. I played a few games on the Xbox game cloud service, and all worked very well with this controller. Games played: BloodStained Ritual of the Night, Halo Reach Master Chief Collection, Forza Horizon 4, and Yakuza 0! My only other downsides here, and I guess only time will really tell here, is that I feel like I always have to take extreme care while playing. With my LG v30 phone, it stays put while the controller is docked, but I am always afraid it will scratch my phone back, or the screen itself while playing. Putting it on, and taking it off, just make sure you use a bit of caution. All in all, I do like this controller quite a bit. I wish it did come with some kind of carrying case, I would be a little afraid to carry this loose in a bag, especially given the price tag. Gaming on the-go with this controller is really fun.

For starters, as an avid gamer, anything that can help me play games in new and exciting ways, I'm all for. That's why I was so intrigued when first reading about Razers' new kishi controller for mobile. This one in particular is made specifically for android devices, although there is also a Kishi made for IOS as well. It works seemlessly with my Galaxy Note 10 + and still has wiggle room. Quick and easy setup made jumping in and getting my game on, a breeze. The first thing I noticed was how light and comfortable it felt to hold especially with the added weight of my phone. The Kishi gives that feeling of having a portable gaming console in the palm of my hands. The super low latency is noticable and hands down my favorite feature. No more connecting to bluetooth and watching my button presses happen several, painful, seconds later. Trust me, it's not fun. If you're a gamer, you know what I mean. And that's just it, this product is made with gamers in mind and it shows. From the aerogonomic fit in your hands, to the ease of portability, to the sheer accessibility when games just...work. Since there's no battery, the kishi plugs directly into your phones charging port and still leaves the option for charge and play when needed. The buttons are snappy, responsive and the device as a whole feels very sturdy. My only real gripe is that when using my phone in portait mode, I found it difficult to swipe and pull down my status bar because the controller hugged just below the top of the screen. Overall I would highly recommend this product to anyone interested in uping their mobile gaming experience. Also as a huge plus, it works perfectly with xbox game pass cloud streaming. So taking your games on the go has never been more easy.

The Razer Kishi gaming controller for Android is a step in the right direction for gaming on the go. If you’re an Xbox owner, the design should already look and feel familiar. There’s even a true Xbox version of this controller for $20 more. The controls feel very much like its Xbox counterpart, and all the same buttons are there. Also, no installation required, so it works as soon as you plug it in, if the game/app supports it. As a Game Pass subscriber, I would like to focus on how this controller works with the new Xbox Game Pass xCloud function. The concept of xCloud is that you’re playing a game over the internet, which means that you do need great internet, and no matter what, there will be some latency. The controller has no noticeable latency to your phone, thanks to its USB-C connection, so if you’re looking for no latency gaming, I suggest playing games that support the Kishi. I wanted to play Call of Duty Mobile but unfortunately, it only supports Bluetooth controllers as I’m writing this review. The first game I tested through Game Pass was Ori and the Will of the Wisps. It worked pretty well, and the latency is not very noticeable. The experience was pretty good, even though it prompted me to switch to a 5.0 Ghz Wi-Fi, which forced me to reconfigure my internet settings. The second game I tested was Destiny 2. Game Pass has a list of games that are optimal for cloud gaming, this game is not on that list and I know why. First person shooters are not great for cloud gaming. Aiming and looking around is awkward and can be frustrating, but I will say that the game looks good. I wanted to compare it to COD Mobile but unfortunately couldn’t. One thing I noticed while playing Destiny 2 is that when I move my thumb from the right thumb-stick to the X button without looking, what I think is the X button is actually the A button, which makes me jump like a frog instead of reloading my weapon. As an Xbox gamer, this might require some getting used to. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S20+ and the device fits very nicely. There’s a USB-C input that allows you to charge your phone, but not connect headphones. If you’re looking for a more private session, or just improve the sound, you will have to use a pair of Bluetooth headphones, which brings another issue, audio latency. If you want the best experience, look for a pair of low latency headphones, made for gaming. Razer makes these. I personally played with the phone speakers, and it doesn’t sound bad at all, at least not with the S20+. The sound is off-center to the right a little, unfortunately. A 3.5 mm option would be terrific. Do you have to remove the case before attaching the controller? Yes, so if you’re using a case, you’ll have to remove it first. With the controller attached, it’s also too large to be a something you leave on permanently, as it wouldn’t fit your pockets, and even though I didn’t try, it’s probably awkward to answer calls with it on. I also want to mention that after playing for a while, my hands were getting tired, which is not a problem I have with a regular Xbox controller. This may vary, depending on your hands and what game you’re playing, just don’t plan on marathon sessions with the Kishi. Overall, the Razer Kishi is a great addition to Android gaming, and a must if you’re interested in cloud gaming through Game Pass, or if you’re looking for an alternative to the Nintendo Switch and already have a modern Android smartphone. Being able to play console games on your phone, without touching the screen is pretty awesome, and as long as you’ll stay away from FPS games, you’ll have a wonderful time.

This is another great product from a company that has brought us many great products on the past. The Razer Kishi is one of three mobile controllers that they make. The Kishi uses the USB-C from your android device for power, but it does have a USB-C port that you can charge your phone while it is hooked up to your phone. They also make an iPhone version that uses Lightning, make sure you order the correct format, since they are not interchangeable. It reminds me of a pxp that you use with your phone. the controller has a flexible design that will stretch out past your device so you can insert the USB-C into the connector. Then press it together for a snug fit. I worry that it might affect your USB-C port if it does not sit securely in your phone as you are playing, but I have not seen any issue with that yet. The materials is sturdy the thumbsticks do not seem to have any issues on response and there is not any delay that is noticeable during game play. There are a couple of apps that are beneficial to download for use with the Kishi. The first one is the Razer Kishi app, this app is basically a game list that the controller is compatible with. As you will see Call of Duty Mobile is not on that list, most of the big name shooters realize that this controller would be an unfair advantage for someone while others are using their fingers. The other app is the Razer Cortex Games app, this app is there app like a play store, you can discover new games, play their games, get rewards and they give you upgrades the more you play. The one downside to this controller is that I have a Galaxy 9+ and it works great with it, but I have to remove my protective case to get it to fit, so I can’t just hook it up and let the kids play with it without worrying about them dropping the phone.

I can't say I am a huge fan of mobile gaming. I love touch screens for point and click applications, but I hate trying to use the touch screen as a controller for gaming. A physical controller just works better and is more precise. The folks at Razer seem to agree and the Razer Kishi is a great way to turn your expensive smart phone into a portable gaming console. The buttons work well. The a,b,x, and y buttons feel great. The d-pad is big and responsive. The thumb sticks work great and I noticed no drift. Triggers and bumpers feel a bit different than a traditional controller, but they still worked really well. I had no problems in FPS games like Halo.. Did I mention this control pad is great for Halo? With X-Box Game Pass Ultimate, you can now stream X-box games straight to your smart phone. The Razer Kishi does a great job replicating a traditional X-Box controller. The Kishi worked well with my Samsung Galaxy S10e and the Google Pixel 4. But, bigger phones may not fit. You also won't be able to use your phone's bumper or case. The controller comes with a USB-C port for pass-through charging. Razer has an app for the Kishi to help determine app compatibility. So far, I have tested the controller with Sonic the Hedgehog, Castlevania Symphony of the Night, and several X-Box Game Pass games. You may need to google your specific games to ensure compatibility. Cons: I wish there was a way to tighten up the smart phone fit. As it is, the phone doesn't always feel like a solid fit. The controller flexes a bit more than I would expect and the phone can slide up and down a bit. Still, I was impressed. I liked the controller. I actually enjoy mobile gaming now.
