Customer Ratings & Reviews

So far so good. USBc plug-n-play ready on a Mac. It "remembers" your settings on the computer and embeds that on the mic itself - pretty nifty. Rode's software is great! Easy settings for one click auto settings or you can dive in and micro-adjustments. Compact, heavy duty, attractive.

[Employee of bestbuy] Rode PodMic USB Review The Rode PodMic USB is an impressive evolution of the original PodMic, delivering versatility, clarity, and professional-level sound in a compact and affordable package. What makes this mic stand out is its dual connectivity—it supports both XLR and USB-C, making it perfect for beginners and experienced creators alike. Sound Quality: The mic offers rich, broadcast-quality audio with great presence and warmth. The dynamic capsule does a solid job of rejecting background noise, especially useful if you’re in less-than-ideal recording environments. Whether you’re podcasting, streaming, or recording voiceovers, this mic punches above its price point. Build Quality: Just like the original PodMic, it’s built like a tank. All-metal body, sturdy mount, and a reassuring weight to it. It feels premium and durable right out of the box. USB Features: Plug-and-play simplicity with USB-C is a game changer. It includes internal DSP (digital signal processing), which allows real-time processing like compression, noise gate, and EQ through Rode Connect software. Great for creators who want clean audio without investing in an interface right away. XLR Flexibility: If you’re looking to scale up your setup later, the XLR output gives you the flexibility to run it through a mixer or audio interface. That dual nature is what makes this mic future-proof. Downsides: • No onboard gain control or mute button on the mic itself • Rode Connect is helpful, but not quite as advanced as some competing software suites • USB monitoring may introduce slight latency depending on your setup Final Verdict: The Rode PodMic USB is a killer mic for under $200. It’s perfect for podcasters, streamers, and remote professionals who want top-tier sound without the hassle. The dual connectivity alone makes it one of the most versatile mics in its class. Rating: 9/10 Clean sound. Rugged build. Future-proof

I really like this mic. Great for podcast and game streaming. You don't have to have it really close like other mics. And the foam cover is really good. Yes there is the Røde pod mic for $99 and that works really well but only has xlr. This panic has xlr and usb-c volume control on back as well as foam cover that slides on really easy and it stays on. It is also a dynamic mic. Pixar's really well with the Røde caster duo

This mic is easily worth $500 bucks or more. Highly recommended for anybody who does sales calls over zoom or who engages in podcasts.

This is my favorite mic I have used so far. Sound is crisp and clean! Easy to configure!

this microphone is truly amazing, 100% recommended

It's a great mic with the ability to catch even the slightest breath, talking to it feels amazing and it's hybrid so you can connect to your computer and record just as much as connect to a console when you feel ready to improve and keep growing. Very happy with the purchase

I bought a brand bew mic and when I opened it from the box and plugged it in to my ipad, pc, and audio interface it did not work. Be wary of some of the Podmic USB stock at best buy.

[Employee of bestbuy] I recently purchased the Rode PodMic USB along with the Rode mic stand, and I couldn’t be happier with my setup. From the moment I unboxed it, the build quality was immediately apparent—sturdy, durable, and crafted with attention to detail. The design is sleek and professional, adding an aesthetic appeal to my workspace. What truly sets this product apart is its ease of use. The plug-and-play functionality, combined with Rode’s intuitive software, made setup effortless, even for someone who isn’t deeply entrenched in the audio world. The sound quality is exceptional, delivering a rich, clear tone that has elevated the quality of my recordings significantly. Paired with the Rode mic stand, the combination feels seamless and well thought out. It’s clear that these products were designed to complement each other perfectly. For anyone looking to upgrade their audio setup without diving into the complexities of high-end equipment, I highly recommend the Rode PodMic USB. It offers premium quality and user-friendly features that are perfect for both beginners and experienced users alike. This is an easy 5/5 stars for me—worth every penny.

Great sound and build quality. I've been really happy with it for recording VODs and working remotely. I've only used the mic with USB-C for now but having the option to use XLR is always nice to have.

First off, the directions for muting via USB (pressing in on the volume button) doesn’t work. So that means there is no mute button option on the mic. That was very disappointing and should be table stakes for any USB mic. And the software (at least on Mac OS) is hilariously weak. The only thing it does is let you adjust some basics to the audio, however it won’t even let you save different settings. It needs a lot of work to catch up to the likes of Blue (Logitech) and even the simple Shure app. But the build quality is superb and audio quality is very good, albeit with very low gain. So plan on having the mic very close to your mouth.

I like this mic. It already comes with the spit shield (yeah, old school terms) which is basically a rubber and foam cap that mimics the look of the microphone underneath. The cap is shown in this mics primary photos. The mic underneath looks gunmetal black. It does look bulky with the cap (as shown) if were going minimalist, but otherwise, it doesnt drag the look or recording sound down. Using it, you do want to get right up on it so itll pick you up and its sensitive enough to (just like a phone) pick up everything around you, but your voice. So, yeah, be in a quiet space. It also pucks up sound accurately. So, the overall sound quality is spot on. If I had to, id buy it again.

[Employee of bestbuy] Always loved the podmic, and now with the addition of usb it is even more versatile. I’m really glad it is USB type C and the mute switch/volume gain wheel is constructed beautifully. I can't say enough about the decision to go with the all black this time but it's everything I could've hoped for. if there had to be anything negative I guess I can say the windscreen, which also looks nice on the microphone still doesn't fully prevent plosives. If you talk really close and directly on the microphone, you will have plosives, but outside of that, this is an excellent upgrade to an already great microphone

Its a pretty good mic, though the only 'issue' is sensitivity. Better use the UNITY app so you can adjust, but it records well and everything sounds crisp

Out of the box it works great, essentially plug and play assuming you have your interface set up. Great audio out of the box, not muddy or anything. Unfortunately it seems the app doesn't work through a standard interface. You need rode's to do so but results end up being the same with EQ you set through your choice of software.

This USB-C and XLR microphone is very good mic for the price. Rode software like Rode Connect and Rode Central allows you to set your preferred sound for your voice. Settings are saved in the mic so you don’t have to change settings for each computer you may use.

Coming from using a Procaster XLR made and Rodecaster II mixer, this retains the stuffing audio of Røde but gives you simplicity and compact form factor. I use for webinars, podcasts, work calls.

RODE PODMIC USB IS INSUPERABLE. GRAT SOUND AND NICE LRVEL

Got this for my partner who is starting in podcasting, and they absolutely love it. Easy to set up and start recording

Great mic! Very versatile and sounds great out of the box. You can never go wrong with RODE.
