I was very glad I purchased this extra battery - I shot 4,000 pictures with my Rebel within 20 hours while on vacation in Antarctica, and only needed two batteries. the battery recharged quickly using 220v power too!

The only way to guarantee your not purchasing a knock off closely branded battery is to go in a retail store and buy this battery. There are many fake (look-a-like) Canon batteries on the market which you can visit Canon's website to see a chat on how to identify a genuine battery vs. a fake (which could damage your camera). For your DSLR always go straight back to the manufacturer for the longest life, fastest charge, and quality control.

I am very happy with the battery performance of all canon OEM (original batteries) they seem to function correctly with the chip and tell you the amount of power left and the battery health which is great. As professional this battery lasted a few hours in our photobooth running with live mode which is all we can ask for!
