About this product
Remo Drive, the longstanding project of brothers Erik and Stephen Paulson, want you to feel something. Following a six-year run of pristine emo-influenced rock 'n' roll records comes Mercy, the band's fourth album and third for Epitaph. It's the band's most lyric-focused offering to date, a record about reinvention, trusting yourself, and wearing your heart on your sleeve even when it's painful or vulnerable.Sonically, Mercy is also a major departure for Remo Drive. It's less indebted to the emo and pop punk that foregrounded the duo's career and instead invested in thorny, baroque indie pop byway of Father John Misty and Fleet Foxes. It was produced by Phil Ek, a legendary Seattle-based indie rock producer who has previously worked with those two bands as well as the Shins and Band of Horses, among others. Remo Drive worked with Ek over the course of ten days. InchIt was refreshing to work with Phil,Inch says Erik, InchIt made music feel like how it did when we were younger. He was like F**k it, let's go, let's have fun.InchMercy is a study in intimacy, in being real with yourself, in entering an exciting new creative chapter where you are making the art you really want to make. That's where Remo Drive is today. Album Tracks 1. Please, Please Be Smart 2. I Find Trouble 3. All You'll Ever Catch 4. White Dress 5. Mercy 6. Makin' Muzak 7. Houseplant 8. No There's No Hope for You 9. New in Town 10. Hold You

Remo Drive - Natural Everyday Degradation [VINYL LP] Clear Vinyl, Smoke date 06/14/2019
Vinyl LP pressing. Brothers Erik and Stephen Paulson toured the world on the heels of their 2017 Greatest Hits and 2018's Pop Music EP. All that time spent on toll roads and tarmacs left the brothers with endless opportunities to think about how far their band had come in a short time - as well as plan for the future. While Greatest Hits overflowed with wide-eyed nativity and whole-hearted enthusiasm, Natural, Everyday Degradation finds the Paulson brothers crafting a sturdier brand of indie-rock. Produced by Joe Reinhart (Modern Baseball, Hop Along) and mixed by Peter Katis (The National, Interpol), Natural, Everyday Degradation highlights the band's true strengths. Erik's lyrics are emotionally resonant and universally relatable, though, they're far more intentional and precise this time around. Instead of letting off-kilter turns of phrase and nervous energy capture listeners' ears, Remo Drive allow their confidence to take center stage. Album Tracks 1. Two Bux 2. The Grind 3. The Devil 4. Shakin' 5. Dog 6. Separate Beds 1. Ezra and Marla 2. Halos 3. Around the Sun 4. Mirror 5. The Truth
