Renata Zeiguer - Picnic In The Dark - VINYL LP

Big Crown is proud to present the next volume of Crown Jewels, our various artists compilation series that highlights some of the most popular tunes next to some of the more obscure.Every artist on Big Crown stands on their own two feet with ease, but together, something else becomes apparent. If you discover one artist on the roster and it brings you to the tag, it's very likely you will find more that you enjoy. The Crown Jewels comps are just that, a chance to get a listen to the whole roster in one place. Even though not all BC artists can be found in the same aisle of the record store, after listening to Crown Jewels Vol. 2, it should be clear how they all fit on the same record tag. When we started Big Crown we wanted to have a tag that's only boundaries were defined by our taste, not by genre. We think that this is a perfect example of that. Thank you to everyone who has supported us thus far and please stay tuned as we have a lot more music on deck. Album Tracks 1. Piece of Me 2. Follow Me 3. Xxplosive 4. Murkit Gem 5. Homer Steinweiss has an incredibly storied career in music that started when he was just a teenager. He's drummed for nearly every Inchretro soulInch group that mattered and his distinctive stickwork helped blend the raw-but-receptive soul sound back into the mainstream via the likes of Amy Winehouse & Sharon Jones. He's now one of the most in demand drummers in the world, playing with Jonas Brothers, Clairo, Solange, Adele, and Bruno Mars to name a few. With his debut solo Ensatina, Homer is stepping to the forefront as both musician and producer. His new record is a reflection of who he is now and a testament to how struggle often brings about a needed change. In 2020 Homer had to reckon with considerable emotional turbulence; at the same time that his band Holy Hive broke up, a personal relationship of 20+ years fell apart putting Homer in an uncertain place mentally. The fallout was significant enough for him to seek professional help. InchI was going through these super manic highs and then very depressive lows,Inch Homer describes. InchAnd being in all that, it's just so tough to imagine that the other side is there, that it'll be ok.Inch But, with time, professional help, and support from friends and family, Homer made it through and has been forever changed. This album is a product of that period of his life. The first song from these sessions, InchNow That It's OverInch perfectly sums up Homer's triumph through those tough times. It's a song of changing perspective and contemplation with haunting vocals from Hether and Flikka. InchPaul (Castelluzzo-aka, Hether), as a friend, saw me through these highs and lows,Inch Homer points out. InchI only had the one line, 'Now that it's over, I'm alright,' but he felt that lyric so much that he wrote all these sections and lyrics and basically completed the song. It was like he was writing to me.Inch Hether also featur

Vinyl LP pressing. 2019 . With their second album In Darkness, Philadelphia's Varials traffic in moshy-metal. While the music is heavy enough to shift tectonic plates, it's not merely about crowd-killing breakdowns - although those exist in spades on the record. Rather, the band explores other aspects of heavy from the lyrics to the tones to the song structures to the melodies. It's a sonically dense, precise, and intense record, and it's not pretty. The same can be said about the lyric.
