RevAir - Precision Root & Micro Edge Styler - 0.3 inch - Black & Teal

My wife loves the RevAir Root & Micro Edge Styler! Here’s what she says about it. It’s the perfect size and really works to tame the perma-tease in some of the shorter wigs I have. Most of them have too much volume and are seldom worn. I also used it to smooth the fraying edges of some of her longer styles as well as the oldest wig I have. The regular hair straighteners are too wide to be able to use it on the perma-tease safely or easily. This one is the Goldy Locks on size and the variable temperatures to get a wide range of jobs done! The thermal photos show how even the heat is on the plates and nice and close to the edge of the styler. The wig safe temperature varies from wig to wig, so the lowest possible is always a safer bet. I did a test on some hair at 270 degrees before starting on the actual wig, and then I was to on the underside first to double check just to be absolutely safe. I was able to remove the lower lighter perma-tease and reduce the amount on the top of the wig by about two thirds. (see photos) I started at the bottom and work in smaller sections and take your time on the whole job but to be quick on the hair to not get it too hot. It’s easier to make another pass after it cools some. Do about an eighth to quarter inch thick by three inch wide section and only heat about a third of it at a time. Working from the bottom up allows it to cool and lay down, so you can easily tell if it needs another pass and allows it to cool in its final place. Working on the wigs ends was pretty much the same small thin sections work better faster, and you can tell if it’s going to lay straight or turn under as you work. It didn’t take too long to finish all three wigs. I have had long lightly curly auburn hair all of my life and working with hair tools is new to me. I still only use tools on the wigs and not me bio hair. This is going to make my wig ends maintenance a lot easier. The 6 foot (2m) rotating cord makes it nice to not have to fight the cord while fighting the wig layers.. My mother in law has shorter layered hair above her ears and has already put in her “order” to me for hubby to get her one of these! It’s going to make a great Mother’s Day Gift! This styler scores a 98 out of a 100. The outside of the styler barrel gets very hot leaving only the very tip end to rest your fingers for trying to support the tool on the end.

The RevAir Precision Root & Micro Edge Styler is a great new tool to add to my "beauty" arsenal. I have short baby-fine hair that tends to lay too flat but in some places it is quite curly and I have a cowlick (a spot of hair that always stands up and goes the wrong way) at the back of my head. What a mess, right?? This might just be the perfect tool to finally help me with my hair. It is ultra lightweight, with ultra-thin flat iron plates, easy to hold and it heats up very quickly (60 seconds). This is so easy to use but, of course, it does get very hot! I have to be very careful not to hold this against my head when it is on a super hot setting. To use, you simply unlock the heating plates, turn it on by pushing the button and set the temperature dial, both of which are located between the plates. The temp goes from 270º to 430º Fahrenheit. I am keeping the temperature as low as possible, at about 290º so that it still works on my hair but doesn't cause any hair damage. You would want to set the temp where it works best for your hair type. This has a 60 minute shut-off timer which has saved me a couple times and the cord swivels at the back of the styler, making styling easier without that cord getting in the way. I am having good luck using this styler to lift my roots so that my hair doesn't lay as flat. It is small enough to really get into those spaces. I have been using it on my cowlick somewhat successfully. I have faith that with time and practice, I will learn to get that cowlick under control. When I have those little flyaway hairs that just won't position themselves as I want them, it takes just a couple minutes to get this heated up and fix those strays. This even works on my gray hairs around my forehead and temples - it takes a little bit more time and work, but it does adjust those gray hairs. Success is coming with this styler and with each use, I am getting more comfortable using it and finding out what is possible. Learning what will work is definitely something I will focus on. Overall, this RevAir Precision Root & Micro Edge Styler is allowing me to do things with my hair I never thought possible, and it allows me to fix problem areas with just a little time and effort on my part. This little styler is lightweight, heats up quickly and gets into those hard to reach (with larger plates) areas. It is comfortable to hold, though for me, it does take an extra bit of gripping power to get the plates to touch each other. Otherwise, I am loving this styler and would recommend it highly.

Great tool to add to anyones beauty set. This styler is versatile and lightweight. The styler has a dial button to set the temperature desired. It ranges from 270-430 degrees. Depending on your hairstyle. It also has a 60 minute auto off feature. That turns off when not in use. The styler has an on button that makes it easy to warm up in just 60 seconds. The smooth ceramic plates makes it easy to style and smooth out hair. The small and thin edges makes it easy to make details to your hairstyle. The 360 degree swivel cord makes it easy to move around without getting caught with the cord. The styler also comes with a cord wrap to keep the cord stored. The styler feels comfortable in the hands. Made with quality materials that will last a long time. This styler will be my quick go to when I need a touch up or need a change of hair style. I highly recommend this hair styler to anyone in the market for a styler. This would also make a great gift for anyone that styles their own hair at home.

I try not to use heat on my hair between wash days after a blowout but as the weather in the South becomes more humid my edges and the roots of my hair might need a little help to make it through to the next wash day. The RevAir - Precision Root & Micro Edge Styler with the small but mighty 0.3 inch plates do the job fast and perfectly. I can get close to the root without putting heat on parts of my hair that don't need it. That's not always the case with a wider plated iron. The plates heat up quickly and has a nice range of heat levels to choose from so you can choose how much heat you want to expose your hair to. I haven't needed to do multiple passes over any spot which is super important when it comes to wanting to keep the heat exposure to a minimum to avoid any damage. And because the plates are so small you can add a little lift to the root without disturbing the rest of your style. I do have relatively long hair so the plates are bit too small for curling my full head but it's perfect for fixing some stray hairs that need a little curl or smoothing the parted areas. And for those stubborn grays that arre starting to frame my hairline it straightens them like a champ! It's more lightweight than I expected and might be my only minuscule negative as I do wonder how well it will hold up to travel or the inevitable accidental drop or fall from the counter. This micro edge styler meets a need that I didn't truly realize I had until now.

When I first saw the RevAir Precision Root and Micro Edge Styler, I thought it would be the perfect compiment for my wife. The plate was long and thin, and the handle was a nice size that fits in your hand. It was going to be perfect for precision straightening and styling. She was excited to try it particularly on her "baby hairs" and the nape of her neck. The styler also gets very hot and reaches a nice hot temperature. Unfortunately it did not perform very well. The main issue is that the plates do not make enough contact in order to apply the desired pressure needed for the fly away hairs. When you close the styler, you can tell that it will not close enough to make a tight seal to get the haris. It did a good job on the hairs on the nape of the neck and got to that area better than most other flat irons. However the fly away hairs were left sticking up rather than leaving the desired smooth look we were hoping to achieve. Overall, I think that RevAir is on the right track with the design and form of the micro styler, however the performance left much to be desired with those who have type 3/4 hair. Those with not as many curls may have a better experience.
