Celebrated celluloid creeper John Carradine (Bluebeard, The Black Sleep) strikes again in this undead classic made at the height of WWII. Monogram Pictures revamps the plot of it's earlier hit, 1941's King of the Zombies, as Scott Warrington (Mauritz Hugo) returns to his childhood home in the Louisiana bayou after learning that his deceased sister, Lila (Veda Ann Borg), may have been poisoned. He is shocked to discover that Lila's husband, Dr. Von Altermann (Carradine), is secretly a Nazi madman who has been perfecting a way to turn the dead, including Lila, into an army of zombies who will serve Hitler! Simultaneously spine-chilling and rib-tickling, Revenge of the Zombies was the first movie to presume the audience knows what a 'zombie' is and not provide an explanation (The Zombie Movie Encyclopedia). With Gale Storm, Robert Lowery, Mantan Moreland, Bob Steele and James Baskett; directed by cult-movie maven Steve Sekely (The Day of the Triffids).
THE ULTIMATE PRESENTATION WITH 4+ HOURS OF SPECIAL FEATURESIn the early '80s, Independent-International co-founder/president Samuel M. Sherman (DRACULA VS. FRANKENSTEIN) took an unfinished zombie movie by Brett Piper (QUEEN CRAB) and began tinkering. He shot additional scenes featuring nuclear terrorists, a mad doctor, a kid (former child star Scott Schwartz of A CHRISTMAS STORY, THE TOY and NEW WAVE HOOKERS 5 fame) who converts a LaserDisc player into a ray gun, 1930's cowboy star Bob Allen, a roasted hamster, The Three Stooges and retired octogenarian Zita Johann (THE MUMMY), then added an unstoppable earworm of an opening credits song to create a drive-in epic unlike any ever experienced before or since. RAIDERS OF THE LIVING DEAD is now scanned in 2K from the negative of the final version, with over 4 hours of new & archival Special Features - including two previous cuts in their entirety - that reveal the full insane saga.
Two disc Blu-ray edition. Heart-pounding action and bone-chilling thrills power this edgy and frightening remake of George A. Romero's apocalyptic horror classic, Dawn Of The Dead! From visionary filmmaker Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen), this pulse-pounding jolt-a-thon stars Ving Rhames (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), Sarah Polley (Splice), Jake Weber (Wendigo), Mekhi Phifer (Divergent) and Ty Burrell (Modern Family). The world is in danger when a mysterious virus turns people into mindless, flesh-eating zombies. In a mall in the heartland, a handful of survivors wage a desperate, last-stand battle to stay alive... and human!
