Richard Youngs - May - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

RICHARD YOUNGS' latest solo work for Jagjaguwar is a collection of neodruid hymns and chants for the minutiae of homelife and fatherhood-poetic transcendance through repetition and a focus on the (seemingly) micro. Once again proving himself a master of minimalist composition, Youngs also takes leaps forward as a lyricist on Under Stellar Stream, reminiscent of the list incantations of Allen Ginsberg. For more than 20 years, the UK's Richard Youngs has been at the forefront of progressive minimalism, through solo home recording projects; through collaborations with the likes of Simon Wickham-Smith and Makoto Kawabata (of Acid Mothers Temple); and in special live performances playing bass with Jandek. Leaving a very human fingerprint on even the most far-reaching experimentations, Youngs has built a extensive, intriguing catalogue that just begs one to go deep. Album Tracks 1. Broke Up By Night 2. All Day Monday and Tuesday 3. Cluster to a Star 4. Arise Arise 5. My Mind Is in Garlands 6. The Bells of Spring

Album Tracks 1. Warriors 2. The World Is Silence in Your Head 3. Only Haligonian

Australian death metal fiends Vile Apparition are back with their second album. Proudly released by Me Saco Un Ojo Records and Dark Descent Records.Mechanically precise drumming violence and crazed riffs fire you into an onslaught of malevolent extremity with intense, guttural vocals spewing through the mix. The ruthless aggression shown from the very beginning will transport you back to the brutality of the 90s with a modern twist showcasing only the most gruesomely barbaric ideas from the band. Warped ideas contort into truly abysmal visions of gore and depravity with only the most malignant of sounds making the cut. Along with the groove-laden riffing, technical solos fit the unwavering madness to give some impressive shred flair to the monstrous hammering assault. If pounding madness and malicious technical flourishes is your thing then Vile Apparition have you covered. This is totally cranked brutality and unwavering musicianship taken to it's logical and perverse conclusion. A torturous blend of brutal death metal that takes no prisoners and gives no quarter. Find yourself holding your breath from the unending ruthless musical mayhem (or perhaps the stench of offal in the air). Malignity delivers what the title promises, and your brain matter will be splattered by the end of a single listen of this record. Album Tracks 1. Siphoning Life 2. Bloodletting 3. White Room Torture 4. A Canvas of Corpses 5. Broken Minds 6. Pulverised Dreams 7. The Essence of Malignity 8. Castrated Gods 9. Thriving on Disease 10. Emulsifying Fleshpress 11. Decapitation Rites
