After King Crimson's dissolution in 1974, Robert Fripp embarked on a lengthy sabbatical away from the public eye. His relocation from Great Britain to New York in February 1978 marked his return as a producer, solo artist, and 'wild card' collaborator with an impressive roster of artists including Daryl Hall, Blondie, Peter Gabriel, and David Bowie. Fripp's first solo album, Exposure, was released in 1979. The term 'Classic album' has been devalued somewhat through overuse, but if ever an album has proved worthy of the term it's Robert Fripp's 1979 solo debut Exposure. Recorded at the Record Plant in New York, the album was originally conceived as part of a trilogy alongside Daryl Hall's Sacred Songs and Peter Gabriel's 2nd solo album (both Fripp produced). Exposure was delayed from it's scheduled 1978 date by RCA's postponement of the of the Hall album (that remained unissued until 1980) and Hall's then manager's insistence that some of his vocals be removed from the album. When the album finally appeared in 1979, it's mixture of songs, singers, instrumentals, snatches of speech, audio verite sound collages - all linked by an autobiographical/diary approach - presented a very different musician from that of the initial King Crimson period 1969-74. Now presented in single LP form as remixed from the original multi-track master tapes by Steven Wilson as part of his work on the Exposures boxed set, the album retains all of the power and vitality that made it such a compelling listen when first released. One of the seminal albums of the period revisited.

This limited edition box set contains 32 discs including DVDs (audio only) and Blu-ray. Packaged in a 12Inch boxed set with 48-page booklet including extensive notes by Sid Smith and Al Okada plus press releases, photos and memorabilia. This is the single largest set in the series released by DGM and one of the most comprehensive boxed sets devoted to a single period of an artist's career released to date. Features the complete collection of Robert Fripp's studio and live solo material from 1977-1983. Covers the period from the first Exposure sessions to the end of The League of Gentlemen and final Frippertronics concerts. Much of this material in the box has never before been released.

Let The Power Fall is the only full album of Frippertronics released during the original vinyl era and within two years of the original tour of shops/offices/restaurants et al that acted as venues for the concerts. With minimal promotion as the tour got underway, especially in North America, the shows quickly sold out. For many attending the effect of the music as it slowly unfolded was profound and deeply moving, and something which Fripp himself experienced. Released in April 1981 just weeks after the sole album by The League of Gentlemen, Let The Power Fall was the final solo album by Robert Fripp of that period, with the band that would become the next incarnation of King Crimson preparing to enter Basing Street studios in May. As the album has been unavailable in any for many years and is very long (in vinyl terms) on both sides, this is ideally suited to audiophile grade vinyl and has been long-awaited by fans.
