His first exposure to a large audience came at the age of nine when his mother thrust him on stage with the one and only James Brown, the Godfather of Soul. From then on, Ron knew he was destined to be a performer. By the time Queen was a teenager he was singing in about 15 different bands in the DC area. The first well known act he sang with was the popular Motown group known as the Dynamic Superiors, who scored a huge hit with the romantic sweet soul ballad InchShoe Shoe Shine.Inch It was then that Ron's reputation as a Inchsinger's singerInch began to grow beyond the confines of the local scene. After performing for a few years on the Dynamic Superiors live shows, Queen was approached by Major Harris, who recruited him to sing in his band and he toured with Harris for nearly three years, further establishing his reputation. Because of his exceptional talent, he rarely found himself with any down time. In the last year, Ron has been working in the studio with legendary Philly soul producer Butch Ingram and recently released the single InchHurry Up This Way Again,Inch which was met with great critical acclaim. For his latest, Ron is back in the studio with Butch, as he takes on The Delfonics 1968 hit, InchLa La (Means I Love You),Inch and puts his own indelible stamp on it. Backed by the first family of Philly soul - the immortal Ingram Brothers band - Ron takes full command of the tune and truly makes it his own. The song has long been a favorite of Ron's and he delivers it in spectacular fashion, with great style and conviction. Around the Fur the follow-up to Deftones' passionate, aggressive Adrenaline, sees the California quartet expanding on the sheer rage of their earlier work, adding new, more sinister shades to their already extreme sound. The opening InchMy Own Summer (Shove It),Inch serves as an introduction to the album's sonic theme sinewy guitars and eerie whispers alternate with fast, violent crunch. Sepultura's Max Cavallero contributes guitar and vocals to InchHeadup,Inch while InchMXInch finds singer Chino trading off vocal lines with Annalynn Cunningham, (wife of Deftones' drummer Abe) in an acerbic take on the rock star mentality. Vocal acrobat Moreno attacks a variety of styles his breathy, psychotic recitations sound downright industrial, while the album's calmer, more brooding moments show his gift for haunting melody. Behind him, guitarist Stephen Carpenter's heavy wall of sound is astoundingly muscular, yet inspiringly agile. When Deftones' hellish fury hits full tilt, as it always does on this album, Moreno's voice erupts into screams which are best described as otherworldly, transforming this intense musical firestorm into a hurtling juggernaut of aggression.
