Ronan Guilfoyle - Renaissance Man - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Five CD set. 'When The 2000s Clashed Machine Music For A New Millenium' is the story of how, 25 years ago, a new form of electronic music - known as electroclash - reignited a tired clubland and gave the indie scene and mainstream pop a shot in the arm in the process. It spotlights the back-to-basics electronic beats that heralded in a new generation of exciting and innovative new artists, such as Hot Chip, Peaches, LCD Soundsystem, and Ladytron. It also shows how the sound and attitude of electroclash plugged into the decade's cutting-edge indie bands, (Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, MGMT, Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party), and became intrinsic to the way chart pop would sound in the first decade of the 2000s (Kylie, Goldfrapp, Mason Vs. Princess Superstar). It also shows how the scene's underground DIY ethos evolved and inspired the next generation of electronic outriders (Simian Mobile Disco, Kid Cudi, Justice Vs. Simian).
