About This Item

Conceived in the 1980s in Mexico and brought to California through the border inside of his 6-month-pregnant mother, Rudy de Anda's debut solo record is a love letter to the long historical lineage of rock 'n roll music as interpreted through his multicultural lens. InchI write my own story, I don't want to be defined by any sceneInch de Anda proclaims of his personal journey, and his ability to adapt and flit between cities and cultures is part of why L.A. Record has called his sound Inchdeliberately difficult to classify, familiar but novel at the same time.InchSince 2005, de Anda has played thousands of shows in various musical projects, but with 'Tender Epoch', tellingly the first recorded under his own name, he has clearly found his own voice with a wealth of stories to spotlight. It's exquisitely crafted pop, with universal messages of heartbreak and loss that still feel appropriate played speeding windows-down on the highway in the coastal sunshine. Above all, de Anda likes to keep people guessing from the album artwork to the multi-faceted textures of sound, 'Tender Epoch' feels ambiguous to any era, a perfect collusion of old and new that showcases a music historian's knowledge of both past greats and influential peers. Sculpting his own path through a wild ride that feels unlikely to let up, de Anda refuses to settle down or get comfortable, instead carving out a classic record that is sure to set a standard for songwriting to come. The whole Colemine and Karma Chief family is proud to welcome Rudy de Anda and to present Tender Epoch. Album Tracks 1. The Mirror 2. Los Canarios 3. Me Revulco en Tus Arenas 4. Tender Epoch 5. Espume 6. Cariño 7. It Didn't Have to Happen 8. Helado 9. Tres Boletos 10. No Me Cruces 11. Cavallet Del Mar 12. I'm Still at the Bar 13. Abrasive

David Bowie - Young Americans - VINYL LP
    5.0(5)

Limited vinyl LP pressing. Digitally remastered edition. Young Americans is the ninth studio album by rock icon David Bowie, released on 7 March 1975 by RCA Records. The album marked a departure from the glam rock style of Bowie's previous albums, instead showcasing his mid-1970s interest in African-American soul and R&B music. Initial recording sessions for Young Americans took place in Philadelphia with producer Tony Visconti and a variety of musicians, including guitarist Carlos Alomar, to become one of Bowie's most frequent collaborators, and singer Luther Vandross. Bowie drew influence from the sound of Inchlocal dance hallsInch, which were blaring with Inchrich strings, sliding hi-hat whispers, and swanky R&B rhythms of Philadelphia Soul.Inch Later sessions took place in New York, and included contributions from John Lennon. Bowie would call the album's sound Inchplastic soulInch, describing it as Inchthe squashed remains of ethnic music as it survives in the age of muzak rock, written and sung by a white limeyInch. Album Tracks 1. Young Americans (2016 Remastered Version) 2. Win (2016 Remastered Version) 3. Fascination (2016 Remastered Version) 4. Right (2016 Remastered Version) 1. Somebody Up There Likes Me (2016 Remastered Version) 2. Across the Universe (2016 Remastered Version) 3. Can You Hear Me (2016 Remastered Version) 4. Fame (2016 Remastered Version)

Lorde - Pure Heroine - VINYL LP
    4.9(15)

Vinyl LP pressing. 2013 debut album from New Zealand singer/songwriter Ella Yelich-O'Connor AKA Lorde. It'd be easy to mistake Ella for a seasoned tunesmith from the American South, one who carries a heavy heart that's been ravaged by careless men over time. But in truth, Lorde recorded these songs as a 16-year old Kiwi championed by the likes of Perez Hilton and Grimes. She has a timeless knack for songcraft with a sophisticated pop savvy that most people over 30 can't find without collaboration. Lorde needs no collaborative hacks - she writes and sings her own songs. Even when she sings in her higher vocal range about teenage politics, Lorde carries herself with the grace and poise of someone like Beth Orton. Album Tracks 1. Tennis Court 2. 400 Lux 3. Royals 4. Ribs 5. Buzzcut Season 6. Team 7. Glory and Gore 8. Still Sane 9. White Teeth Teens 10. A World Alone

Deftones - Around the Fur - VINYL LP
    4.6(12)

Around the Fur the follow-up to Deftones' passionate, aggressive Adrenaline, sees the California quartet expanding on the sheer rage of their earlier work, adding new, more sinister shades to their already extreme sound. The opening InchMy Own Summer (Shove It),Inch serves as an introduction to the album's sonic theme sinewy guitars and eerie whispers alternate with fast, violent crunch. Sepultura's Max Cavallero contributes guitar and vocals to InchHeadup,Inch while InchMXInch finds singer Chino trading off vocal lines with Annalynn Cunningham, (wife of Deftones' drummer Abe) in an acerbic take on the rock star mentality. Vocal acrobat Moreno attacks a variety of styles his breathy, psychotic recitations sound downright industrial, while the album's calmer, more brooding moments show his gift for haunting melody. Behind him, guitarist Stephen Carpenter's heavy wall of sound is astoundingly muscular, yet inspiringly agile. When Deftones' hellish fury hits full tilt, as it always does on this album, Moreno's voice erupts into screams which are best described as otherworldly, transforming this intense musical firestorm into a hurtling juggernaut of aggression. This LP version comes pressed on 180 gram vinyl. Album Tracks 1. My Own Summer (Shove It) 2. Lhabia 3. Mascara 4. Around the Fur 5. Rickets 6. Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away) 7. Lotion 8. Dai the Flu 9. Headup 10. MX
