About this product

About the CD 'Stray Bullet' houses a very eclectic and intriguing array of acoustic/electric compositions. The only uniformity found on this CD is it's diversity. The initial intonations on songs like 'Hungry' or 'Stepping Stone' have a gritty feel offering hints of jazz infused sensibility coupled with drop beats that build transitionally to more progressive metalisk riffs, culminating in cathartic choruses; while songs like 'Numb, Off Me' or 'In Motion,' which blend refreshingly rugged acoustic/electric guitar riffs and heart pounding beats, create a wall of sound that is short of psychically materializing itself in space before your very eyes. Song 'Too Late,' with it's subtle acoustic riffs and mesmerizing bass lines, is an auditory departure into a world of liberating tranquility, but without the whining; and songs like 'Bones' and 'Falling Away' offer yet another dimension that is equivalent of an intriguing accent that a listener can not pin point on the map of musical geography. The lyrical content of the CD is mostly introspective and personal. The choruses are often eruptive but balance well against the more composed and mature verses and bridges. About the Band Saints of Silence is a modern rock band from DC Metro area whose affair with music is that of a perpetual evolution. The band began in the Fall of 2003 as an all acoustic quartet often compared to The Days of the New. But the group soon began experimenting with new sounds and the lead Guitarist, Nick Burton, quickly substituted his acoustic guitar for an electric one. In the Spring of 2004 SOS' line up has changed as the group welcomed their new bassist, Chris Fisher, whose unparalleled bass skills became an integral part in band's future musical development. Currently SOS is actively seeking managerial representation. Also, the group is scheduled to put out their first video for the song 'Too Late

Saints & Lovers - Stille - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Born from the ashes of two of New York City's most exciting bands, the Saints and Lovers story begins with the auspicious meeting of Dennis Cahlo, formerly of the Realistics, and V guitarist Scott Meola. Sharing a love of noise, minimalism, and a music-as-art aesthetic, the two musicians bonded immediately. Meola's ghostly, layered guitar work was the perfect complement to Cahlo's supernal voice. After an initial exchange of ideas, Cahlo and Meola began rehearsing for a residency in New York. The duo stood out from the pack with their unearthly sound. After an amazing reception throughout the month, the next step was the addition of a drummer. Scott's brother Doug joined the fold and rehearsals began in preparation for their first full-band show at NYC's Mercury Lounge. With the addition of Doug's Sturm und Drang drumming, the Saints sound bloomed. The original ambient echoes of Brian Eno, U2, and Jeff Buckley took a new form. Now there were mentions of Sigur Rós, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Led Zeppelin, My Bloody Valentine, Spiritualized, David Bowie, The Cure, Slowdive, and Joy Division. With Cahlo's beautiful falsetto drifting over a dense fog of otherworldy noise, audiences found themselves in disbelief that three musicians could create such a mammoth sound. In 2006, Saints and Lovers embarked on the creation Stille, the band's first full-length album. Recorded, mixed, and produced entirely by the band, the album marks the maturation of Saints and Lovers' songwriting ability and sonic scope. Songs like InchLet Me DrownInch and InchAnywhere But HereInch recall the feel of some of John Lennon's solo work and The Cure's The Head On the Door, while InchThe WarningInch may be the most prophetic opening track since U2's InchZoo Station.Inch Early reviews have likened Stille to albums by U2, Coldplay, and The Cure. Stille stretches out far beyond the terroir of the band's

The Sundays - Static & Silence - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Long out of print, the much-loved and critically acclaimed catalogue of The Sundays will be back in stock on vinyl and CD. Releasing three studio albums throughout the 90s, The Sundays are still revered with cult status across the world of indie rock, known for their shimmering, jangly guitars and the uniquely ethereal vocals of Harriet Wheeler. Their final album is a bright, polished farewell that embraces a warmer, folk-tinged pop sound, complete with the occasional addition of horns and strings. It includes tracks such as Summertime, arguably one of the most radiant singles of the 1990s, as well as Cry and When I'm Thinking About You.
