Q: What is the difference between this model RF29A9671SR and similar RF29A9071SR ?
A: The 9671SR has a door within the door on the upper left so that you can open it just to get the pitcher out or use the water dispenser to fill a single glass. The 9071SR does not. You have to open the entire door to get to the pitcher and the water dispenser is not as accessible.
A: Thanks so much for asking about this, Oldseabee1! While it is recommended to shut off the water supply, it is not required. Samsung recommends this because it will release the pressure behind the filter making it easier to remove and replace properly. However, removing the filter without shutting of the water supply should not cause any leaking, as the filter housing has an automatic valve that seals shut when the filter is removed. ^Jecca
A: The water pitcher is self filling, works great. The ice maker trays are always filled up so I turn off sometimes.
Q: What is flexzone on the refrigerator?
A: Hello Judy, the flexzone feature allows you to set the temperature to five different modes depending on what food you store inside the compartment. The flexzone feature can be set at Freeze: the temperature sets to the same temperature as the freezer, Soft Freeze: the temperature sets to 23 °F (-5 °C), Meat/Fish: the temperature sets to 30 °F (-1 °C), Fruit/Veggies: the temperature sets to 36 °F (2 °C) or Beverage: the temperature sets to 39 °F (4 °C). We thank you for choosing Samsung. ^Lena
Q: How well do pizzas fit in the freezer given the vertical separation between the two sides?
A: We keep pizzas in a stand-alone freezer but, based on how we use the refrigerator, you’d be unable to get one of any significant size in there. A tombstone pizza? Sure. Something bigger like a costco pizza…unlikely.
A: No glass. You ARE letting air exchange when you go to get water but this refrigerator retains cold very well. It has metal in the back that's very cold so the few seconds that the top left door is open to get water I'm sure is more than compensated for by the efficient cooling. PLUS the open area is less than half of the one door. Air doesn't come through the water dispenser area on the bottom - that's blocked and there are 2 shelves above the water dispenser so air exchange only occurs between those shelves. In my experience so far, I rarely "catch" the compressor on and the refrigerator is always cold so it's really efficient.
Q: Does the fridge come with one ice scooper or two?
A: Ours came with a single ice scoop which should be sufficient to use on each ice maker. The 2 containers are side by side and there is a perfect spot to set the scoop on top of either container. We had an ice scoop from the previous fridge, so we do have a scoop for each container, but I don't think it is necessary. That said, we love having 2 different sizes of ice cubes. Very happy with this purchase.
Q: Hello, I'm wondering how much water the pitcher in the door holds?
A: Hello Newfielassie, the water pitcher holds 48oz. Thank you for choosing Samsung! ^Ty
