This sleek dryer offers big style and big capacity in a small 24” wide footprint, with a go-anywhere ventless design that can be installed side by side or stacked on top of a compact LG washer. But saving space is just the beginning—LG’s innovative HeatPump technology saves energy with the dryer usage on every load. Unlike conventional condenser ventless dryers that extract the moisture from clothes and pumps it out of the dryer, this dryer extracts the moisture and recycles it for more energy-efficient drying, every day.

The new dryer (DV25B6900HW/A2) worked perfectly for 2 months. It is efficient in terms of power usage, was quiet, and was able to dry clothes in about an hour or a bit more. Lint filter is easy to clean, but heat exchanger area is difficult to clean, and having some basic filter could have helped, instead of a long brush. User interface is simple and easy to operate. The reason for the low rating is due to the fragile quality of the unit and disappointing Samsung warranty service experience. After about 2 months or so, the unit started making thumping noises which got louder and louder over time. Samsung thankfully provided a warranty service which fixed the thumping noise, but the dryer started showing other problems soon after: 1. Drying time increased from 60~70 min to 100 min ~ 110 min, almost by 40 min. 2. Overall louder noise when the drum is rotating one way but quiet in the other way 3. Water draining noise. Samsung sent the technician again to inspect, but no actions were taken because the result of the quick diagnosis performed by the technician showed the dryer was heating fine, and louder noise is noticeable, but not warranty serviceable, and left. I had long drying time issue, and they only checked if the unit heats up. After going through many hoops, time wasted, and operating with bad state for another month, what WE found out was that the draining hose in the back was bent heavily in a way that water draining was not getting done effectively and there were several sticky black liner pieces sticking out in the back of the dryer, obstructing the airflow in the back. (see attached photo) We re-straighten drain hose and flushed out cloth pieces and that reduced the drying time from 100 min ~ 110 min down to 70 min - 80 min. We reached for the third time to get some of the components replaced because the above issues that were either manufacturing defects or warranty service errors could have damaged components and root causes of the noises. However, the 3rd warranty visit also ended-up with “No defect found.” despite explaining fixes we had to do ourselves which showed drying time improvements. Ideally, these kinds of issues are something that needs to be inspected and taken care of as part of Samsung warranty service, not customers themselves. Every personnel we interacted with throughout several warranty service requests was nice, however, several issues I noticed were: 1. All communication details seem to be lost throughout each step in the warranty process. You provide details to Samsung support, but upon the Samsung technician visit, they only have one line detail about the issue like “noise, vibration while operating”. 2. Self-serve troubleshooting instructions provided by Samsung online support were not applicable to this dryer in many cases. They ask you to press a button which doesn’t exist, or try to do a vent test when the model is ventless. 3. Samsung seems to have a policy that degradation of the performance is not warranty serviceable. So louder noises and longer drying time are not considered defects, and parts won’t be replaced, even when that started happening after the first warranty repair. Things could have been different if there is a complete failure of a part vs worsening performances. 4. There isn't a directly responsible individual or team for warranty cases to check if warranty service is completed successfully, so every person I interact with tries to reroute me to another step / another team. There is no feedback loop here. Overall, our heat pump dryer is less than 5 months old, we had to do our own fixes, and we are disappointed with both the product & services provided by Samsung. The main mistake that I made was probably trying to rely on Samsung’s warranty service to get initial defective issue fixed patiently vs. returning the item when it started showing defective behaviors.

It is excellent for small apartments, its load capacity is great, the space it occupies and its easy connection made it perfect and in function with the whaser from the same series they make an excellent combo. I loved the Wi-Fi connection that notifies you of the wash cycles in which it is washing and drying and you can customize it with a name to your machines

This washer/dryer combo is excellent for a small space. The dryer requires some maintenance but it's nothing difficult. You have to empty the water after one or two uses and you have to clean the lent trap before you use it. You also have to clean the heat pump with a brush that's included in the purchase. That's about once a month. Other than that it's a great unit that's quiet and takes a little longer than most dryers but it's very effective.
