Q: What are the main differences between this model and the 9500?
A: The 9500 model has a warming drawer and the 9400 has only a storage drawer. The 9500 model also has a cast iron reversible grate, while the 9400 has an aluminum griddle, and has no wok grate. The 9500 has 3 racks and 1 split rack. Otherwise they are very similar.
A: Yes, it comes with an optional piece that screws onto the back to fill the gap to the wall
A: The dimensions are listed under Key Specs. It says 29.8 inch wide. I had an opening exactly 30 inch and was afraid it might be too tight but it fit perfectly if you don't want to see any gaps. Just make sure cabinets are also flushed so there's no obstruction. Otherwise the unit has feet that can be cranked up for a custom height.
A: Yes, this model is self-cleaning.
Q: The spec says it's 31" wide. Does it need a 31" wide space in the kitchen island?
A: The 31 inches width is the Best Buy spec not the manufacturer’s spec. I was confused too and had to call Best Buy to return and buy another one because of the width as I don’t have a 31 inches but the standard 30 inches space. Best Buy assured me that it was not the true spec. But you should check with Best Buy and they will confirm with you by looking up on the manufacturer site. Mine fits in a 30 inches space.
A: I don’t see you can lower the height. The sides have a little overlap to cover the counter a bit.

A: The 31'' width includes the top, the main body dimensions are 29 13/16''.
A: I have a gas range as well, You are able to use the Wifi function with a gas range for the oven only. You can use the app on your phone to set the temp, but someone must physically be home to hit the start button to start the preheating.
