This yet another excellent TV by Samsung with the right combination of technology and an intuitive user interface to cover your display needs for next decade. The 4k display with Quantum Processor is amazing. All of sudden everything you see is in 4k resolution even though it is not broadcasted such. My phone recorded 4k video looks amazingly clear and so much better. View from any angle looks the same without any color change or degraded quality. Sound on TV is very impressive, specially that moves with the object on screen. Watching fast and furious on tv was such an impressive experience. One would not need a sound bar or surround sound system with this tv, it does provide very impressive sound effects on its own. Color and contrast is such a treat for the eyes and picture quality is amazing under any room lighting condition, be it day or night lights. I loved how thin and light weight the TV is with extremely thin bezel. I am so impressed by the intuitive user interface of the tv and easy of integration with my smart devices in the house. Setting this TV was so much fun and easy. I was done with all the necessary customization and setup in like 15 min and was actually enjoying the view and colors. TV immediately prompted me to enter wifi details on first time startup and once that was done the smart device integration was cake walk. Ambient mode allows, to use the TV as picture frame in the house. Ambient mode has so many more feature and themes along with clock and weather for your location. SmartThings integration with Samsung products, Multi-view with connectivity from Samsung phone are so impressive. Ease of connecting you laptop (PC or Mac) to the tv without any wires , over the air (wifi), is amazing and child’s play. Finally, the solar charging remote control with universal remote capabilities works out of the box with so many devices and integration with Philip DVD player or Bose system is the simplest I have seen for any universal remote. Such an impressive TV and can’t stop sharing details with friends and family. I have read few reviews about the little black triangle on screen, that is nothing but a screen protection film on the tv screen. They probably forgot to take the film out. The screen protection film has a red triangle printed on the screen.

A truly beautiful television, from its design and build quality to the gorgeous display, to its integration with other Samsung devices. A real win for Samsung. Delivery was on time , professional, and appropriately socially-distanced. Box was very sturdy, and the screen, along with its accessories were all packed very securely inside. I was easily able to position the set on a soft surface by myself, and to attach the sturdy middle-mount base by myself. There were just four screws, and I had it together within minutes. Though I was able to lift the set by myself to put it on the shelf, it would probably be better to have a helper for that step, and definitely if you're going to be wall-mounting. There are a few well-thought-out channels/grooves molded into the back of the set through which the power cord can be routed so it is flush/hidden entirely. The base of the stand also includes a plastic shroud that the wire can be routed through so it's completely hidden. The controller is deceptively simple in design, but incredibly functional. There are unobtrusive buttons for the most-popular streaming services, including Samsung TV Plus. It also has a built-in battery that recharges via -- get this-- ambient light. That's right, no more replacing batteries. The microphone button gives you one-touch access to any of the *three* digital voice assistants available on this TV ( Amazon's Alexa, Google Assistant, and Samsung's own Bixby). Oh...if you don't want to use the included controller, you can also perform all of these operations from your Samsung phone. Initial system updates were extremely quick over wifi, and I was able to connect my streaming accounts within a few minutes using the linking codes shown on the TV. Right after that, I was sampling gorgeous 4k video streams for the next couple hours. The wifi reception on this set seems really good. I have it located two rooms away from the router (that's four walls in between) and on youtube videos it would hold streams of 130+mbit/sec without any buffering or stuttering video. It is truly a joy. The blacks on this display are very inky, and the brightness is simultaneously impressive. I will be attaching my Xbox One X for some gaming tonight, and perhaps i'll update my review then. Did I mention there are FOUR hdmi ports, including a HDMI 2.1 port? This thing is future-proof, and I'm in love. Definitely recommend you pick one up.

The picture quality of this TV is amazing! Samsung promise 100% Color Volume like in cinema with their Quantum HDR 12X and they deliver. Movies feel more real and alive, sport broadcasts are much more enjoyable on this screen compare to other high end TV's I used before. I have a very bright living room during the day and having problem with TV's that don't get bright enough but this TV is so bright that I can see every detail in the picture even during sunny day. Sound is also one of this model best feature - the TV knows to optimized the sound based on the environment and where I installed the TV. The TV deliver 3D audio with sound that tracks objects as they move on screen and make the watching experience more much enjoyable. One of the most valuable features for this TV it's smart capability, I set up the TV from my phone! it was so easy and quick, I can control my TV from my phone and via google assistant - I don't think I will ever use it's remote control again :) I recommend this TV if it's fit in your budget, absolutely worth the price.

Its perfect Smart Tv for a space thats 20×20 or even little more. Features I like, 1) Solar powered remote 2) Interface 3) Display Quality 4) Design 5) connectivity Overall its a great TV for the price. With its specifications and ease of handling. So many features not yet explored. I would say second Samsung Tv and i love it. Trust worthy.

Utterly amazing !!! Great picture and very easy setup. I use the tv for gaming because of the fast refresh rate. The features on the tv are very easy to setup. Whichever game console I turn on, the tv will automatically switch to whatever input I have that console connected to. Once I connected my internet connection the tv began all of its updates and I made sure to login to all of my streaming apps incase I wanted to watch a movie. Best Buy always makes shopping a breeze. Always make sure to speak with a sales tech and have him explain the features and benefits, more importantly Always ask what sales are going on….I originally was going to purchase a smaller size and I found out for $40 more I was able to get 55inches with a better refresh rate and way more features ….thanks again Best Buy

This is a fantastic TV! It’s so nice to have a smart TVs that isn’t a Roku. We’ve been using it for about 2 months and have been very pleased with the picture, ease of use, solar remote, size, and connection to sound bar. This is the best TV we have ever purchased.

The picture quality is AMAZING. Once you dial this baby in you'll notice the difference right away. Out of the box was great, but when you tweak the settings, it's hands down the best picture I've seen. I paired it with a 900T soundbar, no rear speakers, and I get awesome surround sound with the Q Symphony feature. Pair these 2 together and you'll be truly amazed....WOW!!! Setup was super simple too.

Just setup my new 55” Q80A. The hardest part is removing the plastic protective film. In the lower left corner about 4-5 ‘ up from the bottom is a triangle PRINTED on the plastic film. If you don’t peel the film off you will be fooled into thinking it’s a defect. Samsung dropped the ball here in making the film both not obvious but a bit tricky to remove. (see photo of the film against a white background) Also the barcode is stuck onto the film. Don’t try to peel away the barcode. The small blue pull tab in the upper left corner breaks away from the film too easily. SAMSUNG I hope you read this!. I’m not a purist but the picture quality is pretty nice. I streamed content from Disney+ and the quality is great. I'll give this 5 stars for a great picture.

Totally in love with the Samsung Q80A. We use the 55" as a bedroom TV but this is our favorite set in the house. We do have the Q90A in our living room, but I honestly like the Q80A more! The picture is crystal clear with vibrant colors and the sound is phenomenal, even without a soundbar. And can we talk about this solar remote?!?!? Forget about buying batteries and dead remotes. And if your remote is in an area that doesn't get much sun, not to worry because it has a USB-C port if needed. Great TV from a great manufacturer doing their part to reduce plastic waste.

I have several Sony TV's, but the Samsung did not disappoint. Terrific picture and sound. I moved to DE from another state. I bought this TV until I could set up my Sony 75.

This television (Q80A) works as expected and has a good, vibrant picture. The UI is snappy and it integrates well with my Samsung sound bar (as one might hope). However, be aware that Samsung includes a 'sponsored content' advertising banner in the user interface, right next to the options to change inputs, change settings, and access various other television settings. This advertisement cannot be disabled, although if you are network savvy you can attempt to block the ads by blacklisting various Samsung domains at your router. Which bets the question, why am I paying more than a thousand USD for the "privilege" of viewing ads? It's an insult frankly, and thus I'm hear to register this complaint on an otherwise decent TV. Presumably Samsung will try to bury this review among various other paid reviews, but it's worth calling them out for for this tremendously poor user experience. Samsung needs to provide a way for users to opt-out of advertising.

This Samsung TV has to be the best user setup experience I have encountered. The interactive setup provides the user two options using a mobile device or a manual setup process. I chose the mobile device process, and the setup process was complete in a few clicks. Once I got through the setup, it was time to put this 4k display through some test. The 4k display is amazingly stunning, the colors are rich and vibrant, and the blacks are accurate and not washed out. The audio seems to adjust and redirect its sounds dynamically with the objects moving on the screen. The Ambient mode is a nice novelty feature. You can enable the screen to display a decor picture art display or feature any personal photos you may choose to have as a background when your TV is in standby mode. My wife especially likes this feature since we display our family portrait, and the TV is more like a portrait centerpiece than a TV on the wall. Overall we are very please with Samsungs latest QLED series TV. Read less

Beautiful tv with great sound. I have this 55" in my den, which is a perfect size for the space. I have noticed some light area along the top when the screen goes black between programs and such, but the biggest issue i have is that there seems to be an issue with lip sync timing on certain channels through Hulu, even after updating the software, so I'm still working on that issue. I also need to find out how to disable my ps4 triggering a startup upon turning on the tv.

Thank you for purchasing the Samsung Q80A TV and for sharing details of your image quality. To optimize your picture quality, please be sure your firmware is up to date with version 1805.4 which includes updates to image quality, as well as the lip sync issues you are reporting. You can check this by going to: Settings > Support > Software Update.
If this firmware version is not yet available on your TV, you can download the update on a USB drive and manually update your TV:
1. On Samsung's website (upper right corner), go to: Support > Manuals & Software > Find your TV model.
2. Download the update and extract it to the root of a USB thumb drive. (Do not put it in any folders on the thumb drive.)
3. Connect the USB thumb drive to a USB port on your TV.
4. Navigate to Settings > Support > Software Update, select Update Now, and then select Yes.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the updated software.
If you are still hearing an audio delay across all sources/channels and you have a Home Theatre System or other speakers connected to your TV, you can access the Audio Delay settings to increase the audio delay. Go to: Settings > Sound > Expert Settings > Digital Output Audio Delay
Anynet+ controls external devices that are connected to the TV via an HDMI cable, and will turn on/off when you turn the TV on/off. To disable Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC), go to: Settings > General > External Device Manager > Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) = Off.
