The Samsung 870 QVO 8 TB SATA SSD delivers colossal storage in a compact 2.5″ form factor, with solid sequential speeds up to 560/530 MB/s and reliable endurance. Ideal for bulk media or game libraries, it’s slower than NVMe and drops write speeds after cache—but space-wise, it excels.

At the time of writing this, there are very few SSDs with such a large capacity, and from personal experience, I will never run the risk of buying sub-standard drives to save a few bucks, so Samsung is usually my go to for a reliable storage solution. It works well (like every other Samsung drive I have). With the QVO, you get throttling on large file transfers, but that is only a small percentage of what it is used for. This is all drives, the actually size on the PC is smaller than the capacity claims, but I don't like that 8tb is actually 7.26tb(on system, 7.54 on Disk Mng). With such a large capacity, almost a full terabyte is such a wide margin. Good drive though

This a a reliable ssd for bulk storage. Would recommend to anyone looking for bulk storage solution. Much better than a hard disk drive.

Samsung quality never ceases to amaze me when it comes to SSDs and the capacity is awesome. No matter which capacity you choose the Samsung SSDs will not let you down. I've used Samsung for almost 8 years now and not a single drive has actually failed just needed more space.

Lots of storage in a small package. Just make sure if your using an external enclosure for the drive you have a compatible one.

For some reason the price has almost doubled since I bought my 2. Its a very nice drive and would have bought a few more but they disappeared everywhere and now are almost double. If you can afford them get them.

January 6, 2024 Geek Squad called during installation to advise it was dead out of the box. Best Buy Geek Squad provided excellent service & timely notification. Waiting for it to be available again…
