A: The machine has two cartridges, one for softener and one for detergent. From about a month of use, I’ve noticed a single fill of both lasts about a month since I just refilled both a few days ago. I use concentrated detergent and concentrated softener. I have the concentrations set in the app and I have the dosing set to medium for both. The machine will add more or less detergent based on how dirty the load is after it runs for a bit. Softener is a fixed volume every time. There are also two manual cups in the drawer, one for manual detergent and one for liquid bleach. If you turn auto dispense off on a cycle, the machine will run with the manual detergent cup. This is useful for things like wool or activewear that use specialized detergents. I hope that helps!
Q: Does this washer have a detergent refill alert?
A: Yes, and Bluetooth will send notification to your phone
A: Let me correct my previous answer. If you're space is only 36" and you want to fit the washer and all the hoses etc, that is insufficient to what the mfg calls for. So it should be closer to 40.5" of space that you need if you include the manufacturer space spec for the hoses. Washer is 34.5" deep and the hose spec calls for 6" so Could you fudge it and go less space, yes you could, but that is not what the manufacturer suggests. So if you have issues with your washer and did not follow the installation instructions and something goes south, it will be on you.
A: Yes to both of these questions, it is a large capacity machine.
A: No it does not have the self venting feature. However, the detergent tray removes easily and I wipe it out with a paper towel to prevent mold build up in the detergent try, then I give the silicon/rubber ring around the door a wipe as well, leave the door open for a bit and have had no mold/mildew issues so far. But it does not have the vent that some front load washers have.
A: Greetings, If you will be using pods on the washer, you need to put them directly in the tub, and for powdered detergent, you need to remove the container and put powdered detergent directly into the main wash compartment. You can check out the steps to add powder detergent on the model's user manual link below, on page 31. https://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/202401/20240124193631414/DC68-04386A-03_IB_WF8900B-WF6500B-AD_SimpleUX_EN_CFR_MES_240123.pdf Thank you for choosing Samsung, and have a great day! ^Rainly
Q: Does the drum have a plastic "tub" surrounding the drum or is there just a metal drum?
A: The outer drum of this machine is made of an antimicrobial plastic. It’s polyethylene which is durable and chemically stable and it has an antimicrobial material embedded into it. The inner drum is stainless steel with polyethylene fins to agitate the laundry. The outer drum mates with a flexible synthetic rubber boot seal that is treated with the same antimicrobial material as the outer drum. The end result is a highly mildew resistant finished product. The best way to preserve the machine is to use only as much softener and detergent as the machine thinks it needs, so make sure you set the concentration and dosing settings in the app. High quality detergent and softener are also critical, I find my machines have done the best with Persil Professional and Downy Wrinkle Guard. Also, make sure you run the self clean cycle when the machine tells you it’s time and don’t skip. A helpful hint is to use Clorox Bleach crystal packs in the self clean cycle. Unlike liquid bleach, the calcium hypochlorite in the crystal packs has twice the germ killing power of liquid bleach and also the calcium helps break down any residual detergent.
A: This sounds like you still have your shipping bolts in the machine. When installing did you remember to remove all four shipping bolts on the back of the machine? These stop the barrel from being able to move freely causing all the velocity to go through the machine instead.
