A: The PCIe slot is version 4 but the SSD installed is version 3 - that means the maximum throughput is half of what is possible. Furthermore, the SSD installed isn’t that fast even for PCIe 3. How to fix: purchase a PCIe 4 SSD of your choice. I think a good choice is Crucial P5 Plus 1TB PCIe Gen4 3D NAND NVMe M.2 Gaming SSD, up to 6600MB/s - CT1000P5PSSD8 Solid State Drive (about $50). There are 2M.2 slots one of which is empty. Install the new card in the empty slot and clone from the original SSD to the new one. Set new SSD as the boot drive. This will provide around double the disc io rate and twice the storage space.
